Arboricultural Research and Information Note 131/95 - The
Management of Ancient Pollarded Trees.
ARIN131 is a short paper, written by David Lonsdale, which describes the
management procedures necessary to preserve old pollarded trees. The document covers the
following subjects. 
  - Introduction (history and ideal management procedures).
 
  - Effects of Wounding (infection, decay, regrowth, species).
 
  - Recommendations for work on old pollards (timing, species, pruning practice).

    management which contains the same diagrams and probably supersedes ARIN 131.
