1

TITLE

  

The title of the club shall be ‘The CCADS’.

2

OBJECTS

  

To encourage music, drama and stagecraft and to provide social events for its members.

MEMBERSHIP

  

Open to all those interested in amateur dramatics. Anyone desiring to become a member shall approach the Secretary with details of their name and current address and pay a subscription.

  

The Committee has the right to revoke membership.

  

Members are expected to attend rehearsals when called to do so. If they are unable to attend, they should contact the Director, or a Committee member, under the penalty that they may be dropped from the cast.

SUBSCRIPTION

  

The annual subscription shall be decided at the Annual General Meeting and will be payable from 1st October. In addition, there shall be an acting fee for performers payable before the date of the dress rehearsal of each production.

FINANCE

  

The financial year shall be from 1st September to 31st August each year.

ADMINISTRATION

Administration shall be carried out by the Committee.

  

The Committee should consist of the Chairman, the Secretary, the Treasurer and at least four, and not more than nine, other Committee members. Two thirds shall form a quorum. The Committee and officers shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

  

All Committee members must attend at least 70% of Committee meetings during the year to be eligible for re-election the following year.

  

The Committee shall have the power to fill any casual vacancy arising amongst its members, when considered necessary and to co-opt for specialised advice. The Committee shall be directly responsible to the members.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

  

The AGM shall be held in the month of September. Notice conveening the AGM shall be sent to the members not less than 28 days before the meeting and shall specify the matters to be discussed.

  

The AGM shall be held to:

(a)

Elect the Committee and Officers.

(b)

Receive, and if approved, adopt a statement of The CCADS accounts to the end of the preceeding year.

(c)

To decide upon the level of annual subscription.

(d)

To deal with any matter which the Committee desires to bring before the members and any other business relevant to the club.

CASTING

  

Casting for productions shall be made by the Director(s) and at least two others approved by the Committee.

EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

  

An EGM may be called by the Committee or by a request signed by at least five members. This shall be given to the Secretary and shall specify the business to be discussed. The Secretary shall give all members at least 28 days notice of such a meeting.

  

The Constitution may be added to or repealed by resolution at any Annual and/or Extraordinary General Meeting.

DISSOLUTION

  

In the event of the dissolution of The CCADS, the assets will be sold and the proceeds donated to an unspecified Charity as per an agreement made with the Redhill United Reformed Church.

HONORARY MEMBERSHIP

  

The members have the right to suggest to an honorary post within the society any person deemed worthy of such an honour and for that person to handle the post for a given period at the discretion of the society.
