Rehearsals for forthcoming productions take place on Wednesdays from 7.30
pm to 10.00 pm (9.00 pm for children) at Frenches Lodge, Frenches Road, Redhill. Closer to
the show there are also rehearsals on Sundays from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm at St Josephs Hall,
Ladbroke Road, Redhill.
The directors for each production will confirm rehearsal times and locations and will
normally provide a rehearsal schedule so that the cast know when they will be required.
If you are unable to attend a rehearsal, please inform the show director or a committee
member as soon as possible.
The normal schedule for the week of a production is as follows:
Saturday before the show |
Working party at the hall to get the stage ready for the
show, sort out the dressing room and for the lights to be installed etc. |
Sunday before the show |
Run through the show twice, in costume, starting at 2.00 pm
and finishing at approximately 10.00 pm. Everyone brings their own tea along. |
Monday before the show |
Technical rehearsal. This rehearsal starts at 6.30 pm and
hopefully finishes at 10.00 pm. It is for the backstage crew, lighting, sound etc to sort
out any problems. |
Tuesday before the show |
Full dress rehearsal. This starts at 6.00 pm with make up and
again hopefully finishes at 10.00 pm. This is treated as if it was a first night with
everyone wearing make up and in full costume. |
Wednesday to Saturday |
We normally do five performances, including a Saturday
matinee. The curtain goes up at 7.30 pm each night and the cast are asked to arrive from
6.00 pm onwards for make up. For the matinee, make up is from 1.00 pm onwards with the
curtain up at 2.30 pm. |
A CCADS tradition is to have a cast tea between the Saturday performances to which
everyone contributes.
It is CCADS policy not to wear stage make up front of house.
After the last performance everyone helps to strike the stage and to clear the hall which
has to be left clean and tidy. Then its off to the after show party!
