Stuart House
~TAXIS &
BUSES~
TAXIS are readily available and cost approximately £3 to bring you from the Railway Station at the city centre and about £16 from the AIRPORT to Stuart House.
Airport taxis and
City taxis are different. Airport taxis are usually white and larger private
cars which only operate outwards from the airport. City taxis are Black Cabs and
will pick up at the station or in the street.
Charges can vary slightly depending upon the number of passengers
in the party and whether the taxi has been reserved or simply hailed in the
street, but the journey defines the main charge. There is a meter beside the
driver that can be viewed. Tipping is optional and is usually given if the taxi
driver has been helpful. For more information check EdinburghTaxis
Blue airport buses provide an alternative means of travel
every 10 minutes between the Airport and the Waverley Station in Princes Street.
The price is presently £3.30.
BUSES are frequent and
reasonably priced. Local buses from near
Stuart House are the
Lothian
Region Transport maroon buses,
No. 8 to the High Street, Old Town and South Side and No. 17 which travels along
Princes Street past the train station to the West End. These buses stop nearby
giving a 15 minute service for the 5 minute journey to the city centre. The
fares presently start at 50p and 80p for longer journeys. Exact money is
required as change is not given.
Alternatively, use the open top buses.
