The Rossendale Rambler

LETTERS

SPONSORED WALK.
Some of you are aware that I completed a sponsored walk for Rossendale Search & Rescue, on 6th June 1999. The walk was 12 miles around Haslingden, Holcombe Tower & Helmshore. The starting point was from The Holden Arms.

I would like to express my thanks to the kind people who were good enough to sponsor me, enabling me to raise funds not only for Rossendale Search & Rescue but also for The Rossendale Ramblers. This was possible because upon entry we were informed that the proceeds raised by each individual could be donated to a local charity or group of their own choice.

As our group had recently been discussing ways in which to raise funds, I took the opportunity to do something I enjoy and help two local groups in the process. In the short time in which I had to gather sponsorship I was able to raise £72.00 to be split between the two groups. Anyway, enough detail about the walk my real reason for this letter is to say once again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all of you who were good enough to sponsor me, and a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Joan & Hugh for accompanying me. I hope they will agree with me when I say it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Sheila Goggins

Thanks for the contribution of £36 to the Rossendale Group, Sheila. (Editor)
