Karen's Recipe Slot

FRUIT FLAPJACKS

12 oz / 300 g Rolled Oats.
8 oz / 200 g Margarine.
6 oz / 150 g Brown Sugar.
6 oz / 150 g Mincemeat.
2 tablespoons Golden Syrup.

Method.

Turn on oven (180°C or gas mark 4)
Grease a 10” x 7” shallow tin.
Place oats in a mixing bowl.
Melt margarine, sugar and syrup in a pan.
Pour melted ingredients into oats,stir together with a wooden spoon. Add mincemeat and stir thoroughly.
Place in a tin and firm down with knife.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, until mixture dries and leaves the edge of the tin.
As the mixture cools, mark into pieces, leave to go cold, then lift out of the tin with a knife.
