Rhian Rees is Clyn Du's Yard Manager. She has worked at the centre for a year

Rhian has been brought up with horses and has ridden since she was three years of age. Her early ambition was to be a national hunt jockey but she began her equestrian training at Boelings Riding School, Haverfordwest, where she worked for 9 months

From there she moved to Springside Stud in Carmarthen. Her work here involved producing and showing working hunters. She worked at Springside for 4 years.

In September, 1998, she joined the staff at Clyn Du and became Yard Manager in March. Her work involved preparing the centre's horses and ponies for lessons and training new arrivals for their work.

Rhian enjoys competing, when she has the time, and often competes on Ziggy, the centre's biggest horse. He's a handsome Hanovarian gelding standing at 17hh. She also has a lovely bay mare on loan. The four year old TB is cheeky but has a lovely nature and is responding well to the schooling she receives daily. She has been backed and is being ridden on a lunge line. Rhian hpes to compete on her in the near future.

Rhian's ambition is to run an eventing yard of her own one day but for the time being she is more than happy at Clyn Du. "I am building up a lot of experience at Clyn Du. Bobby is wonderful to work for and I have my own horse at the yard - what more could a girl ask for!"
