| HOME | Vitamin E Vitamin E is another very important vitamin for the body. It is a fat soluble vitamin, that is stored in the body. Vitamin E is known as an anti-oxidant, and helps to prevent oxidative damage to the cells. It is particularly useful and helpful for the cardiovascular system, and has proven benefits in protecting against oxidative damage to the blood vessel walls, with benefits for hypertension, ischaemic heart disease and other related conditions. Vitamin E has a similar action upon the blood circulation as aspirin, in that it inhibits platelet clotting, and it is because of this action that it has such benefits in cardiovascular conditions. Recommended dosages vary, and many studies have shown benefits with doses between 400 – 800IU. Our recommended dosage of 1,000IU is a little on the high side, but deliberately so.
