Double Handed in the MX Ray

· New ‘FAMILY PACK’ - MX-Ray can now go Double Handed for fun and training! We’ve developed a pack of parts which can be fitted to the boat during ( or even after ) manufacture, to allow the MX-Ray to be sailed by Father/Son, Mother/Daughter crews, or even by two lightweights. In this way the MX-Ray is sailed in true Skiff mode, with the crew handling the mainsheet to windward ; Offwind the mainsheet is passed back to the helm while the crew hoists the Asymmetric Spinnaker, the crew then plays the kite sheet while the helm plays the main. The ‘Family Pack’ includes, amongst others, items such as an extra forward toestrap, extra non-slip pads on deck in front of the mainsheet, handholds for the crew and helm, a shorter tiller, different spinnaker fairleads under the sidedeck, and some other minor modifications. Now the whole Family can enjoy the boat ! And Junior Too!· New Junior Main and Kite ! Once, they’ve tried the boat with the Family Pack with Mum or Dad, or just to enable the lightweights and younger members of the family to sail the MX-Ray on their own, we now have a Junior main and kite available ! The Junior main is a ‘roll up/zip away foot’ version of the standard main to keep the costs down ( giving you a Standard main and Junior main all in one ! ! ) and to allow them to progress to the standard rig as their ability and/or weight increases. This brings the minimum helm weight down to approx. 8st / 50 kgs .
