>Uralan was once home to the race of the Eldar but after their fall from grace it was all but destroyed, nothing but ruins remaining.
>These ruins, and the planet's close proximity to the Eye Of Terror, mean that it is today inhabited by the Thousand Sons chapter. They aim to unravel the mysteries of the Eldar contained within the strange devices left on the surface in an attempt to harness the great psychic ability of this race.
>One initiate of Tzeenetch, Apollyon of the Black Legion, has a particular interest in this planet. For he is also dedicated to the chaos lord Slaanesh, and believes he can utilise the warp gates scattered across Uralan to gain access to the Eldar Craftworlds to wreak havoc among his master's hated foes.
>Using his dedication to Tzeenetch as cover Apollyon quietly shipped troops into the area until he was ready to attack the Thousand Sons and claim Uralan for his own.
