112 Guides in 25 Patrols took part in Round !, with the Wacky Wellies of 1st St Albans emerging as clear winners.
There were eight bases:
1. Strictly Come Starlight - find out about the stories of the constellations and give a presentation to the training board.
2. Prepare yourself in case you should meet an alien. What might one look like?
3. Personal fitnessis of utmost importance to all space travellers. Prepare yourself to keep fit in zero gravity by completing the space exercise programme.
4. Whilst in space, you will need to send and receive spacecraft instructions. Learn how to communicate like a space probe.
5. Prepare yourselves for blast off! Assemble a rocket and launch it along a flight path.
6. Astronauts must be able to identify constellations confidently. Observe the night sky and map out a constellation of your choice.
7. Mission Control would like to send you to planet Uranus. The liquid there has never been analysed Show how you would carry a sample back to base safely, using a transporter.
8. Once in space, you will need to make sure you know where you are going. Create a model of the solar system, and guide your ship through the asteroid belt without touching any of the hanging particles.
