163 Guides in 35 Patrols took part in this round.
They were challenged to tackle 2 long and 4 short activities during the day; the 2 long ones out of 6 possibles were decided by lottery, but they were free to try any 4 short ones that had vacancies.
The 'pursuits' were:
LONG:
1. Mini-scarecrows
2. Basketry
3. Patchwork
4. Corn dollies
5. Pumpkin carving
6. Soap carving
SHORT;
7. Bird tables
8. Orange & clove pomanders
9. Collage of natural materials
10. Butterfly feeder
11. Clay pots
12. Besoms
The afternoon ended with apple-bobbing - for fun, not marks!
Rainbow Laces Patrol from 1st St Albans Guides were worthy winners on the day.
