ROUND 3 - 2009-10

Centenary Pageant  -   26-27 June 2010

Congratulations to the Rainbow Laces Patrol, and to everyone who took part in producing a spectacular pageant to commemorate 50 years of Guiding.

In spite of warnings, a large amount of Lost Property remained at the school, and has kindly been taken in charge by Mrs Carol Connah. Please contact her at: carol.connah@sevenay.net    if you have anything missing.

30 Patrols attended the sleepover at Nicholas Breakspear RC School, and used Saturday workshops for drama, song, dance, costume, banner collage and poster painting to construct their part in the pageant, which was shown to parents on Sunday afternoon.

Each Patrol had an event to depict, and these were:
Prologue  -     The Crystal Palace rally
1910's     -     Love story of the Baden-Powells
                    Titanic disaster
                    World War 1

Due to the extreme heat, a vast amount of water and soft drinks was consumed, and about half of the Guides slept out under the stars in the courtyard.

Everyone thought it had been an exhausting but very rewarding challenge, with enormous credit due to the producer, Mrs Janice Hyde, and her helpers.
