and welcome, thank you for dropping by. My name is Joe
Davies, I am based in Bridgend, South Wales
UK, and specialise in the development of database systems using the renowned
Microsoft Access Database programme. Access is the most popular end user
database in the world, most Microsoft Office users have this amazing database
sitting on their pc's doing nothing. This incredible tool makes light work
of any type of data handling task. Complex reports that have to be done
at a moments notice are instantly produced in stylish formatting with all
the figures neatly summarised into various groupings. Using the versatile
and ever popular "Visual Basic" programming language, connections
can now be made between all your windows applications tying your information
together as a cohesive whole. An
MS Access application can be developed as a
simple stand alone database application, a file server database, a client
server database and now even a replication database for staff away from
the office. One
of the stories I like telling my clients is that of the contracts officer
of a well known organisation here in Wales, who in the past had taken up
to 2 1/2 hrs to generate a single contract variation order. When he started
to use the new Contracts Management System, he let out a low whistle and
said " Well that's me out of a job" . The system can calculate
and produce a printed contract variation order ready for implementation
in less than 45 seconds. I have spoken to the contracts officer since and
far from being out of a job, he said "That system you developed is
the best thing that has happened to my job since I started here, I am now
free to do the job that I was employed to do in the first place and that
is to inspect the contractors work, not to sit behind a desk all day doing

My
mission statement is simple when it comes to developing a database.....
In my experience most end users do not realise what modern 32 bit data processing
systems are capable of doing. I make it my job to fully understand the various
processes of the business system and then explain in laymens' terms how
MS Access together with my programming skills can offer you incredible benefits.
My no-nonsense, flexible approach to system analysis allows me to quickly
prototype a demonstration database, that gives the client a feel for how
the final product will look and function before any committment is made
to a full scale development project.
I am constantly amazed as to how versatile Access can be in the hands of
a creative developer, it will handle all manner of data manipulation with
ease and speed. As well as looking good with its intuitive screen displays,
the latest version of Access breaks into new territory with even more brilliant
features such as clever programmable active-X controls and internet capabilities.
"ALL SINGING AND DANCING," is a phrase that's often used when
referring to a fully automated database system, I can assure you it won't
just be the database singing and dancing. The database user will also be
doing a jig because of the savings made in effort and time as their workload
becomes easier to handle. |
