The Software
The products come in a variety of forms and are all designed for PCs running under Microsoft Windows'95. Some products are free-standing, others are multi-media files to be used with common packages such as MS Excel, or a Web Browser. All of them are intuitive and easy to use.

Downloadable products are in .zip format. Unzip the download to a folder of your choice using WinZip (available here), then click on Setup.exe to install. Always install into the same folder that you unzipped to. The download may then be deleted to save disk space.

Should we start the engine? A handy program which predicts the fall of tide at a destination port. Very useful in ensuring that you arrive before the lock stops operating. Also a useful means of checking that you won't go aground at your anchorage. (Suitable only for tides with regular, sinusoidal rise and fall.)

Available soon A hyperlink glossary of nautical terms and jargon. Ideal for beginners, amusing (in places) for Old Sea Dogs.
Buoys

A set of HTML files for use off-line or online through an advanced browser.

Under development A multimedia introduction to buoys and marks. Suitable for beginners.
Sun Shots

A free-standing program for Windows 3.x and above.

Under development A step-by-step, arithmetic-free approach to reducing sun shots. Work from AP and the sight to the fix. A good learning tool but also useful on board.
