INDIA TRIP 1998 NOW COMPLETED

We have returned from India following our 3 month missionary trip. We have spent time teaching pastors, preaching and organising financial and humanitarian aid projects. The latest news will be here as soon as we get chance to write a report!

1997 Visit to India
Last years trip to India was a remarkable one. Sometimes we need to move away from home and spend time with the lord to hear what he is saying to us. This is very true for us. At home we seem to be so busy, we pray and ask God for direction but don't always spend enough time with him to hear the answer. We love to visit the villages in India, their simple and uncomplicated lives are very different from our own. They work long hours, but do not live under the stress that many of us live under here in the West.logo

We were encouraged to see that some of the churches we have seen planted over these last few years, are growing at a rapid rate. Some in turn have planted out other churches. Each church comprises several house fellowships which meet most nights. It is quite common to see a house full of people with an over-spill sat round the front door - listening to the Word of God being read out to them. "So then, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" (rom.10:17). To an illiterate person - hearing the Word of God spoken out, is a source of joy and a lifeline to them.

The evangelists and pastors who work tirelessly in the villages, are eager to learn more and want to be further equipped to teach the people to whom they are ministering. We feel that God is leading us to prepare these men and women for works of service. They have asked if we will hold more teaching seminars during our next trip to India in 1988. Plans are being made for this next trip, which will take place in early January 1988 for 3 months. (Please see our India page for more details of our work in the villages).

Miracles every day . . .
God works miracles in our lives every day. Do we recognise them? We have seen God work many miracles in India. The sick have been healed, the lame walk and the blind see. The greatest miracle of all - new life in Jesus! Ladies who were barren came to ask for prayer last year, that their wombs might be fruitful. We were overjoyed that some of them came to show us their new born babies and two came to tell us they were pregnant. The God who answers prayer in India, is the same God who is able to answer prayers and work miracles in our lives, right where we are. Do we pray, asking and believing that God can do miracles today? Or, do we leave it to someone else who we may consider to be better than us? Be encouraged. Through Jesus, we are all children of the most high God and he can use any one of us if we are willing to be obedient and available to him.
