OUR MILLENNIUM PROJECT -
£1.5 MILLION NEEDED

A VIBRANT PRESENCE OF CHURCH
PLEASE SUPPORT US.

We aim to develop a Centre of Reconciliation. A centre which will bring peoples together. At the moment we work with drug users, homeless people and ex young offenders. The whole purpose of our work is to give hope to everyone. We want to re-convert a Church into a Centre which can speak the language of forgiveness. We will also keep a presence of Church in the midst of this project.

We feel the Church has an important role to play in bringing peoples together.

St Anne's is a thriving environment, communicating at a local, national and international level. Every year over 60,000 copies of Edges, our quarterly publication is distributed throughout the UK., where we explore faith and marginalisation in its diversity

At a local level we help young people with drug problems to change their lives, helping them turn away from the mistakes of the past. Such people are opening up to a higher power, the power of God. drug addicts carry in their lives the struggle of the crucifixtion, but through rehabilitation, the joy of resurrection can be made possible. These people can reveal to us the glory of God.

One of the greatest challenges for the Church in the new century is responding to the masses of people who have a belief in God but no longer see the need to go to Church. Our Reconciliation development, which will operate on the plant of St Anne's, is a dynamic way forward, which will focus on forgiveness, enabling people to be reconciled with themselves and society.

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE SPONSORING OUR WORK

Our work attracts thousands of sponsors from all over the UK enabling us to help young people change their lives.

THE RE-DEVELOPMENT OF ST ANNE'S -
A CENTRE OF RECONCILIATION

The redevelopment of St Anne's aims to provide a centre of Reconciliation

  1. It will comprise a small Church which will serve the needs of the parish - with seating for 180 people
  2. IThe Church will also be used as a Centre of Reconciliation, with Expostion of the Blessed Sacrament on a Daily Basis.
  3. The Church will be open throughout the day - A centre of prayer for people working and shopping in town.
  4. The development will also provide accommodation and a Program of Rehabilitation for the spiritually recovering drug user, accommodating 20 people. This will enable them to be reconciled with themselves and the wider community.
  5. Integrating the rehabilitated drug user back into society will be achieved by a Day Centre where they will work alongside different disability groups who will use the centre. This will open for groups such as those with learning difficulties and those with physical & mental handicaps. Statutory and voluntary agencies will be able to use the service. This will enable the ex drug user to give something back to society and it will rehabilitate them back into the work ethic.

A DRUG FREE ZONE -
MAKING BLACKBURN A SAFER PLACE

There will be random drug testing and anyone found with drugs will be asked to leave. The whole aim will be to keep people free from drugs and make it a safer environment for us all
