British Acupuncture Council: The BAcC is the UK’s main regulatory body for the practice of acupuncture by professionally qualified acupuncturists.

British Herbal Medicine Association: The BHMA was set up in 1964 to advance the science and practice of herbal medicine in the UK. The BHMA publishes the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia.

Council for Heathcare Regulatory Excellence : A statutory overarching body, covering all the UK and separate from Government, the CHRE was established in April 2003 to promote best practice and consistency in the regulation of healthcare professionals.

Department of Health: A Government department providing health and social care policy, guidance and publications.

European Medicines Agency: The EMEA is a decentralised body of the European Union set up in 1995 responsible for the protection and promotion of public and animal health through the evaluation and supervision of medicines for human and veterinary use. Relevant committees include the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) and the Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) which provides scientific opions on traditional herbal medicines.
