Representing Professional Herbalists from all the traditions across Europe

Standards

Since 1993 the European Herbal Practitioners Association (EHPA), bringing together the major UK herbal registers, has been working towards improved regulation of herbal medicine in the UK. The aim has been to set certain common standards while promoting the development of each herbal tradition.

The EHPA has agreed and published a common-core curriculum together with specific curricula for the Western, Chinese and Ayurvedic traditions, and has established an Accreditation Board to assess training standards.

It has drawn up in draft form a Continuing Professional Development scheme, a Code of Ethics and Complaints Procedures, and a Policy on Communication with the Public and Health Professionals.
