Thailand '98
In August 1998 I flew to Thailand for two weeks, I knew it was monsoon season but this should help to keep the temperatures down a bit. As it turned out there was little rain and lots of sun.
For the first 5 days I stayed in The Holiday Inn at Patong Beach on the island of Phuket, the weather was great with only a couple of monsoon showers and one whole day of rain. When I say showers I don't means the type of thing we get in England, these showers were BIG but they only lasted about 10 or 15 mins, so you just ran into the nearest bar and by the time you've got a beer in your hand it had stopped!
Whilst I was on Phuket I did some deep-sea fishing but we only caught one Tuna between four of us! But it was lovely day out on the Andaman Sea and I got really burnt.
My next few days were spent on a tiny island in the middle of the Andaman Sea called 'Koh Phi Phi'.
