This shows the average score of the Doctor Who books
ranked by each incarnation. The surprising result is that first
Doctor comes out on top. Since these tend to be the most traditional
of stories it shows that new and experimental isn't always to
everyone's taste. The low rankings of the next two are surprising
although a lot of these Doctors' characters are based on appearance
and mannerisms which don't appear to have been captured in print
too well. That the fifth Doctor scores so highly is unsurprising
as his thoughtful screen persona gives such scope for an extended
novel. The N/A refers to those that do not involve the Doctor
such as Face of the Enemy, Downtime and the hard
to classify The Infinity Doctors. |
