Semillon/Sauvignon                    Cape Jaffa          1997
Brand new to this Country. 3 wines from "Coonawara" by the sea are of the highest quality. Derek Hooper visited us in the Autumn last year and it was great for us to learn more of this area. In "DECANTER" it was rated one of the top winerie to watch, so we are well up with the best.
                                                     £ 7-93          £ 7-67          £ 7-57

Chardonnay                               Cape Jaffa           1996
A real change for fresh citrus style Chardonnay to be found as good as this. Rediscover Aussie Chardonnay and you will forget all the bad ones
                                                      £ 8-74         £ 8-45          £ 8-34

Riesling Watervale                     Bremerton Lodge          1996
Another newcomer to us. Riesling is never as popular as it should be but this one, with a bit of effort on our part, has become a firm favorite since it arrived just before Christmas. A wonderful fresh taste but still the petrol nose and gerat length.                                            £ 7-70           £ 7-54          £ 7-44

Chenin Blanc                             Coriole Vineyards         1996
The grapes are picked when quite ripe to produce a wine of intene flavours. Almost tropical fruits. Fabulous.        £ 7-20           £ 7-05           £ 6-95

Semillon Chardonnay                  Opal Ridge                    1996
It is a real change to find a clean tasting, fruity citrus style from "Oz". Here the natural flavours have been brought out really well.
                                                      £ 4-90            £ 4-75           £ 4-70

Red

Cabernet Sauvignon                      Cape Jaffa                  1996
The Angelus from Wirra Wirra is always good but here is a real rival. Deep colour and an intensity that will leave you breathless.
                                                     £ 9-75               £ 9-55           £ 9-40

Cabernet/Shiraz/Merlot    Langhorne Creek           Bremerton Lodge       1995
Another wonderful new wine. Depths of colour and flavour which you expect but subtleties that you don't.            £ 7-95                £ 7-75           £ 7-65

Cabernet Sauvignon              Bremerton Lodge                 1994
A richness with ripe berries and length which is tasting well now but can be left for several years. Bec Wilson also came to see us before Christmas, and I believe, this is going to be another one to watch closely.
                                                    £ 8-72                  £ 8-50           £ 8-40

Shiraz/Cabernet                      Opal Ridge                          1996
Light in style with a hint of Spice. This wine is a good introduction for those who may not normally drink red wine.
                                                   £ 5-06                    £ 4-93          £ 4-88

New Zealand

White

Sauvignon Blanc                      Dogpoint      Goldwater         1996
Unbelievable flavours. I rate this very highly. Probably as good as Cloudy Bay but cheaper.                                  £ 8-37                    £ 8-09          £ 7-98

Kumeu Chardonnay                 Brajkovich                           1995
A lovely well balanced unoaked Chardonnay. I made the mistake of chilling it too much on my first tasting. Once it warmed up the peach flavours came through.                                        £ 7-35                     £7-20           £ 7-10

Fall Harvest Smoked       Sauvignon      Nobilo            1996
Rich luscious flavours. This style will suit a lot of those who find the Sauvignon grape a little too acidic sometimes. Great with fish and ideal for ummer drinking.
                                                   £ 5-75                     £ 5-60           £ 5-55

Pinot Noir                                 Knudsen Erath                 1995
One of the best wineries in Oregon. This Pinot is comparable with Burgundy

 Andes Peak               Chardonnay                         1996
A wine of rich fruit with good use of oak, in fermentation, has produced something very easy to drink. Probablynone bottle is not enough!!!

                                                                      £4-90       £4-75         £4-70

Red

Andes Peak                Merlot               Rapel          1997
What a find. Smooth with velvety tannins. From the taste you would think that this is more maturer  than the 1995. Full of raspberry flavours. Don't miss it.
                                                      £ 4-69                      £ 4-53         £ 4-47
