The Church's Task

This section provides a number of resources and clues to help us identify the Church's task - what we are here for.

In "One-eyed churches" we meet a number of caricatures of local church life

In "Three relationships" we explore insights that come very powerfully from scripture and theology

"Not quite?" presents pictures of present-day church life which are not quite one-eyed - including an image which seriously challenges the traditional congregational model of the church.

Detailed instructions are then given for a "Mapping" exercise for groups based on the three relationships.

Finally, in this section, we check out a "glossary" of some of our churchy words to see how they fit together - and to see how, taken together, they challenge many of the routine assumptions that actually drive the life in our local church.
