Malins Models - British producer of steam toys for over 60 years
Mamod working steam models
In the sixties my grandmother bought me a Mamod model steam engine (a Traction Engine of the type shown above) We have just rescued it from the attic. This was after a trip to a local steam fair in which Clarissa and Alec got to ride on a real steam driven 'steamroller'. From a stall at the fair,
I learnt  that the Mamod models are still in production and spares are available for these (plus Wilesco Steam engines and
Mamod 'O' gauge steam locomotives), see them online at:

Paper & steam Galore, 5 New Cut, Chatham, Kent, England  ME4 6AA
Telephonel/Fax: (01634) 813650

Extracts from their old catalogue are shown above.

A little bit of affordable industrial steam heritage in this digital age. My father actually remembered using large steam traction engines for threshing corn on the farm he stayed at during the second world war, when he was an London East End evacuee at Ipsden, Oxfordshire.
