Teaching options and fees

We are convinced that the future of foreign language teaching and learning lies with very young children. Over the past five years, we have:

· Created a coherent syllabus tailor-made for nursery children and
early primary years.

· Increased the number of teaching hours and their frequency.

· Reduced the number of children per class.

· Worked exclusively with native French speakers.

Le Français en Ecosse is working with children in their nursery and primary schools in Edinburgh and beyond (see list of clients), as well as with a number of private individuals.

NURSERIES

We can arrange for a teacher to come to your nursery at any day and time that suits you. Our teachers will bring everything with them and we will keep parents informed of the activities and progress of the children by sending them a regular newsletter (every six weeks). The French session will last 30 minutes as our experience as shown that this is the perfect frame for the children to acquire the new language.

· Minimum teaching time at the nursery: 60 minutes (two classes of 30 minutes).
· Class size: maximum 10 children (minimum 4 children).
· Cost per class (of 30 minutes): £2 per child (to be paid in advance of each six week "term").
· Number of classes: Most nurseries tend to have two hours per week, on two different days (four classes). However, it is possible for a child to study French only once a week at a cost of £2/week.

PRIMARIES

Le Français en Ecosse can work in conjunction with your Parents Teachers Association to organise an after-school club on your premises at any day and time that suits you (after school hours or during lunchtime). Our teachers will bring their own equipment and materials and we will keep parents informed of the activities carried out in the club by sending them a programme at the beginning of each term.

· Minimum teaching time at the school: 60 minutes (two classes of 30 minutes).
· Class size: maximum 10 children (minimum 5 children) · Length of class: 30 minutes or 45 minutes with older children.
· Cost per class : £1.50 per child (£2 for 45 minutes), to be paid in advance of 12 week "terms", i.e.: £18 for 12 weeks.

PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS

If you would like your child to get a head start in languages from the comfort of his/her own home, we will be very happy to help you! Either of these options are available to your child, depending on his/her age and abilities in French:

· Join one of our existing groups of Fun French. Please contact us for details.
· Gather enough children of your acquaintance and we will open a new group in your (or any other parent's) home. The classes will last for an hour, at a cost of £20 .
· Individual tuition at the cost of £20 per hour.
