Examples of Activities

1. Drama
· Acting out rhymes and poems, including making up stories using finger/hand puppets, dressing up games etc.
· Taking part in two plays (one for Christmas, one at the end of the school year) which will be presented to the parents.
· Taking part in a video of class activities which can be shown in the Nursery to the parents.

2. Physical Activities
Through sports, energetic play, outdoor and indoor activities of all
sorts (including aerobics, gym etc.), discover:
· Your body.
· Verbs of movement (walk, run, jump etc...).
· Spatial awareness (front, back, on, under etc...).

3. Music
· Learning songs.
· Playing rhythm games.
· Moving to music.
· Recognising words in songs.

4. Cooking
· Theme cooking (for a special event, a birthday, Christmas,
a picnic etc...).
· Discovering vocabulary for every day ingredients of food prepared
at home(discovering names of fruit, vegetables).
· Discovering through touch and smell what the object is (mustard, butter etc...).

5. Science and Nature
· Discovering means of transport available in our world.
· Discovering colours, shapes, sizes, numbers through
experiments, observation, books, games, CD-ROMs.
· Learning about the seasons of the year, the weather etc...

6. Art and Craft
Becoming an artist through: painting, drawing, collage,
papier maché, clay etc…

NB. These activities will or will not be carried out, according
to the number of hours taught at the nursery.
