What is a Cash Rating?

A cash rating is the maximum value that the contents of a particular safe can be insured for.

If a safe has a cash rating of £3000 then the contents of the safe should not exceed £3000 in cash value.
If you wish to keep more than the maximum cash rateable value in a safe then a safe with a higher cash rating must be chosen.

Jewellery rating on a safe is generally ten times the amount of the cash rating.
If a safe has a cash rating of £3000 then the jewellery rating is generally £30,000.
This is a rough guide only and insurance companies should be consulted to obtain a more accurate figure.

All safes have the facilities to be bolted down either to a wooden or a concrete floor.
Most insurance companies insist that this be done before they will insure the contents of the safe.
