Verbs that take DATIVE instead of the accusative (see Stage 11) The English meanings are:

  • The thieves do not trust Holconius.
  • We support our friends.
  • The merchant promises money to the candidate
  • The girl pleases Grumio.
  • Do you like it?
  • The very generous brothers gave denarii to Sulla.
