Cleavers (Galium aparine) are a popular herb
in folk medicine throughout the centuries.
It is a vigorously growing weed that twines through hedges and shrubberies
producing long sticky stems.
The young shoots are amongst the first of the weeds to appear in the
spring and make an excellent cleansing tonic, a remedy widely used in
the Balkans and throughout Central Europe.
Cleavers contain Coumarins, Tannins, Glycosides and Citric Acid. .
They have Diuretic,Lymphatic Cleansing and Mild Astringent properties.
The cream ,when used regularly, is effective in the relief of psoriasis.
