 That
was the noise we were expecting to hear as we touched down
in New Zealand. In fact, we saw very few sheep, and the New
Zealand women were actually very pretty, not woolly!
Craig
and Steve arrived in Auckland, North Island on 30 April 1999,
while Ric arrived a day later on 1 May. After a couple of
days walking around Auckland, we all finally met up one night
in the bar of a hostel. The next day we bought a car, a Honda
Matic. We were off. We surfed North
Island first, and then caught a cargo ship to South
Island, where we enjoyed some much colder waves.
