1.) To test my
latest camera so that I can e-mail Canoltax and the relevant forum about vitally required
improvements.
2.) To understand
the limits of my present lenses so useful additions to my line-up can be purchased.
Every photographic possibility must be taken care of.
3.) To test the
film so I can discuss its merits artistically at length at my Camera Club.
4.) To test the
wobble of my new titanium tripod so that I can complain about it.
5.) To test the
latest colour enhancing filter with its patent mega coating. If it puzzles and
perplexes my local D&P photoshop when they try to get a reasonable colour balance for
my 6x4 prints then so much the better. They can treat it as a learning experience.
Why do you like expensive camera gear ?
1.) This a
libellous question. I just love sales assistants fawning over me every six months if
not sooner.
Why do you love gadgets ?
1.) A new gadget
is like a glass of wine. It cheers the day and gives me an excuse to re-arrange all
my camera bags to fit the gadget in and to plan happy days when I might remember to use
it.
When do you actually take photos ?
a.) When I
remember to bring a camera with battery and film in.
b.) When nobody is
glaring at me.
c.) When I am told
to.
d.) When I don't
have to walk too far.
e.) When the sun
is shining.
f.) From the tour
coach window.
When would you actually like to take photos ?
When the potential
photograph merits all the time spent perfecting and honing the contents of my camera bags
and the hours spent reading about how to take the perfect shot.
Where is 'there' in " f 8 and be
there..." ?
Anywhere when I'm
not there.
What about " f 8..." ?
Well, the camera
was in Program mode and anyway I had run out of film.
Why do you attend photographic
workshops ?
So that I can brag
about my friend Moose.
What was your biggest photographic mistake
?
Just once not
getting my partner to carry my photographic gear. I had back problems for the next
three months.
Am I a sad case ?
Wiser maybe,
poorer definitely but sad never !!! Canoltax have provided too much pleasure over
the years. Habit forming - yes, addictive - yes but so far non-carcinogenic.
What do you understand about the Zone system of exposure ?
I
believe it has something to do with candid street photography in Red Light areas.
