12 May view01.jpg (75717 bytes) Initial view....Waiting for bank to be removed.

"

View02.jpg (183055 bytes) Close-up of the bank - showing just how much earth will need to be removed before a level base can be obtained!
15 May view03.jpg (232520 bytes) Some the foliage overhanging the post and rail fence needed a bit of a trim!
Also a couple of slabs were taken up to make room.
20 May view04.jpg (151635 bytes) The digger used, and the picture shows how little room there was!
" view05.jpg (50231 bytes) Front view of the 7 Ton digger used to level bank.
" view06.jpg (139900 bytes) A large pile of soil waiting to be taken away.
" view07.jpg (69252 bytes) A view from above.
22 May view08.jpg (122557 bytes) The Tractor used to pulled the 30 Ton Trailer.  This was used to take the earth to the local tip.
" view09.jpg (32738 bytes) This was the gap, before the trailer was loaded.  It was half this distance again once the trailer was fully loaded, as the trailer had sunk into the ground on one side.  The tracker could not pull the trailer out on his own without a little help from the digger!
" view10.jpg (65055 bytes) More of the bank levelled.  Now waiting for the weather to stay dry, as the ground is very water logged.
" view11.jpg (57525 bytes) Picture shows what one 30 Ton Trailer tyre can do to the ground!
" view12.jpg (47158 bytes) Oops!, will have to re-do neighbours grass!  A better shot that shows just how deep it was.
25 May view13.jpg (59066 bytes) Foundation dug out for retaining wall.  (And yes, it had rained!)

"

view14.jpg (48555 bytes) View from above of foundation.
27 May view15.jpg (108804 bytes) Concrete poured and steel work in place.  The form for the shed base is being constructed.

"

view16.jpg (170892 bytes) Picture of steel forms for the shed base, and how we had to improvise using 2 bits of broken slab!
01 June view17.jpg (197026 bytes) Reinforcing being slowly covered up with concrete.
02 June view18.jpg (56801 bytes) Concrete base completed, left to set.
" view19.jpg (7991 bytes) Flipping Cat !!!  (One of the neighbours cats had decided to go for a walk right through the wet concrete!)
" view20.jpg (82831 bytes) Close-up view showing bolts embedded in to concrete ready for shed.
07 June view21.jpg (25204 bytes) Rain, rain and more rain stops work....

Oops! Me thinks....I might need a bit of drainage!

14 June view22.jpg (39688 bytes) At last the rain has stopped, the waters been drained and a few blocks have gone down.
15 June view23.jpg (42021 bytes) That wall shot up!
16 June view24.jpg (88090 bytes) The other side wait for more blocks to go up....and yes that *IS* blue sky in the top left hand side of the picture.....wasn't there long!

"

view25.jpg (38754 bytes) A close up of the blocks.

Each block weighs 30 Kg's!  At the end of the job we would have installed 7,500 Kg's of blocks.

"

view26.jpg (51057 bytes) Show steel rods embedded within blocks.  Remember each block will have to be lifted over those rods - hard work!
