The Boats are locally built 19ft one-design racing yachts with small cabins specifically designed for Poole Harbour. They are stable, manoeuvrable and exciting and are easily handled by a crew of two or three. The yachts are fully equipped and lie at moorings close to the clubhouse at Lake Yard. Transport to and from the yachts is by launch.

The one-design yachts cater for a wide range of sailing abilities. Sailed without a spinnaker, they can be handled by a relatively inexperienced crew of two or three, only one of whom (the helmsman) needs any sailing knowledge. With a spinnaker, they can provide exciting racing for an experienced crew of two or three.

Each boat is equipped with an anchor and warp to facilitate anchoring for short periods and the lifting keel allows anchoring in shallow water. The boats carry a maximum of 5 adults or 4 adults and two children per boat.
