One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life  (Psalm 27:4)

The State as Parent
State Intrusion into the Sanctity and Privacy of the Family

"We must remove the children from the crude influence of their families.
We must take them over and, to speak frankly, nationalize them

"[T]he most vulnerable children in our society ... are in our care; we, the state, are their parents"

"The first thing that a totalitarian regime tries to do is to get at the children,
to distance them from the subversive, varied influences of their families,
and indoctrinate them in their rulers' view of the world"

"Above all things, the child needs protecting from the state"

"Put starkly, the state by its actions has denied these parents the right to decide for themselves, within the privacy of the family,
what in their view, as devoted parents, is in the best interests of their children - a matter which, to speak plainly, is no business of the state"

"Perhaps those words will now be quoted to every Government busy-body, every ardent searcher for parental non-conformity,
every state employee who believes interfering in family life is 'only doing their job'.
Perhaps this edict will echo from doorsteps and family homes where love resides with all of its human blemishes and quirks.  I'd like to think so"

Children in the State System  (30 June 2018)

A few months ago, I had a brief conversation with a social worker concerning children caught up in the State 'care' system, the Rotherham et al rape gangs, the respective roles of Social Services and parents, and various other aspects of the State's assistance (at least, as the State sees it) of families in recent decades.  Because our chat was necessarily very brief, I subsequently revisited in a little more depth some of the topics we'd touched upon, collating them into a letter to the social worker concerned, of which this document is just a part.

The State Has a Terrible Secret: It Kidnaps Our Children  (03 May 2018)

"Imagine you're a single mother. You get injured in a car accident, and a kind friend offers to look after your two young boys while you're in hospital. You accept with relief. Three weeks later, when you get home, you're still a bit shaky, so your friend suggests it might be best of she has the boys for another few days. You are unsure, but she is persuasive. First thing on Friday you send a text saying you will pick them up from school. A few hours later - you've been awaiting her reply, slightly puzzled at the delay - a text pings back: ... how about revisiting the situation on Monday?..."

Not For Me to Interfere  (15 March 2018)

"I was doing voluntary work as an Appropriate Adult when I was asked to support a 12-year-old girl of mixed race who had been referred to the police by her social workers for unruly and violent behaviour. She was bright, sassy, very charismatic and had been let down by every adult and social care service she was in contact with. She was currently living in a children's home..."

Shorten Degree Courses - and Cull the Leftie Humanities  (23 December 2017)

While Mr Johnson, and hopefully Ms Somerville too, are thinking about shorter degrees, I hope they will take time to consider another improvement to higher education: fewer degrees ... the nation would benefit, and not just financially, from having far fewer humanities students and in the case of politics, sociology and social work, no students at all..."

Corrupt Practices Disguised as Child-Welfare Campaigns  (02 December 2017)

"[C]ountless children are today being removed from their families by governments, for what too often turn out to be wholly inadequate and often quite fraudulent reasons ... Every year, the number of children being removed from their families like this continues to break all records. The total number of children now in state 'care' in the UK is more than 90,000. And the families being thus forcibly torn apart are then plunged into a nightmare underworld, which stands every basic principle of British justice on its head ... We are undoubtedly looking here at a very serious evil which needs to be exposed, challenged, and fought with all the skill and determination we can call on..."

Is Gay [sic] Adoption Wrong? The Children Say Yes  (26 November 2017)

"Today children's needs come a definite second to parents' rights either to have them or to offload them. Mention Dr Bowlby's groundbreaking research on the baby's prior need for maternal attachment and expect to be told that a baby is capable of multiple attachments and substitute figures will do ... The logic of subordinating children's needs to adult rights is obvious. Once daycare or fathers can substitute for mothers, so too can anyone, whether or not they are the best substitute in terms of the children's needs..."

We Had So Much to Offer a Vulnerable Child - But Were 'Too Indian' to Adopt  (02 September 2017)

"I am not surprised that the mother of a white Christian girl should be upset that her daughter was placed by Tower Hamlets council on London with a foster family reported to adhere to a strict form of Islam. But my experience is very different - one in which cultural sensibilities were taken into account, but to an extreme and absurd degree..."

Courts Told Never to Ban Media After Tower Hamlets Foster Case  (£)  (31 August 2017)

"Courts were ordered never to ban the media from their buildings yesterday after journalists covering the case of a Christian girl fostered by a Muslim family were refused entry. Security staff were told to bar reporters from the East London family court the day after the judge in the case praised The Times for acting responsibly in raising 'very concerning maters' of 'legitimate public interest'. Journalists were given increased access to family court hearings by the government in 2009 after an award-winning campaign by the The Times for open justice..."

Social Care: A Poem  (30 July 2017)

"It is striking how often ordinary people, who find themselves the victims of extraordinary wrongs, turn to poetry to express themselves. ... I would like to publish these as I come across them, for they say more than I can about the battle we fight for truth and justice..."

The Depths of Britain's 'Worst Ever' Child Care Crisis  (24 September 2016)

"In a statement that should have made us all sit up and take note, our top family judge, Lord Justice Munby, last week warned that social workers are now taking so many children into care that our 'child protection' system is facing an unprecedented crisis. ... in over-reacting to the Baby P fiasco, social workers have become astonishingly trigger-happy, removing far too many children from their parents for wholly inadequate reasons..."

Cameron's Talking Pie-in-the-Sky on Child Protection  (21 May 2016)

"A characteristic of modern governments is that, when confronted with some massive genuine problem, their response is, first, to ignore or deny it, but then eventually to half-admit that there is a problem and come up with some half-baked proposals which don't really address it at all. We saw yet another example last Wednesday when our poor Queen had to read out an illiterate little paragraph promising that her Government would introduce a Bill to 'ensure that children can be adopted without delay, improve the standard of social work and opportunities for children in care in England.'..."

Small Plants and Little Caterpillars  (16 January 2016)

"It has been fashionable for some decades now, particularly amongst those who like to think of themselves as experts in child-rearing and/or politically progressive, to argue for child-centred parenting.  They mean by this that the child's 'wishes and feelings' must be at the forefront of parenting..."

Social Workers Should Be Better 'Parents' To Vulnerable Children, David Cameron Says  (14 December 2015)

"The Prime Minister made an emotional appeal to childcare professionals as he set out plans to allow the Government to take over immediately poorly performing councils' children's services..."

David Cameron Has No Clue About Our 'Care' Industry  (24 October 2015)

"At the Tory conference, [David Cameron] noted that the suicide rate among children formerly in care was four times the national average, and that 70% of prostitutes had likewise been in care (although the more usual figure is 50%). He might have added that care-leavers represent more than a quarter of our prison population and that only 9% reach university ... Cameron [said] that the answer must be to 'speed up the adoption process' ... Alas, all this demonstrated, again, was how little Cameron understands about what is going on in our 'care' system..."

Sentimental Headlines Mask Child 'Protection' Big Business  (31 October 2015)

"'National Adoption Week' recently won front-page coverage from one tabloid newspaper with a picture of a three-year-old child, Grace, headed: 'Heartbreaking adoption plea: All I want is a mummy and daddy'. ... One odd feature of this practice is that anyone else publishing pictures like this would risk imprisonment for flouting the draconian secrecy rules protecting the identity of every child in 'care'..."

The Judge Who Believes That Lawyers Always Tell the Truth  (29 August 2015)

"Among the many shocking features of our dysfunctional 'child protection' system, one that stands out is how consistently families are let down by the legal profession - not least by lawyers paid a t public expense supposedly to represent their interests, who then appear to do the very opposite..."

Children's Services: Working to a Hidden Global Agenda?  (17 August 2015)

Will Cameron's New Policy Chief Ensure Children Are Protected?  (11 July 2015)

"The most notable distinction of Camilla Cavendish, the former Times journalist recently appointed by David Cameron to oversee his Number 10 Policy Unit, was the campaign she ran between 2006 and 2009 to expose the failings of our 'child protection' system. For a series of articles showing why this had become one of the most shocking scandals in modern Britain, she won the Paul Foot award for campaigning journalism, summed up in 2008 when she listed '10 wholesale reforms' needed to get this horribly corrupted system back on the rails. These included an end to much of the secrecy that more than anything else had allowed this corruption to flourish unreported..."

A Rising Tide of Anger Across Europe at 'Nazi' Social Workers  (07 June 2015)

"Even I was rather surprised to see a newspaper headline reporting that the president of the Czech Republic had accused the social workers of another European country of acting 'like Nazis'. As it happens, he was not talking about our own much-loved social workers but those of Norway..."

Child Protection Boss Paid Off With £134k...  (23 May 2015)

"A controversial child protection chief has quit her job with a six-figure payoff - only to be immediately rehired on almost £1,000 a day. Deputy children's commissar Sue Berelowitz, who was criticised for failing to speak out about sexual abuse by British Pakistani gangs, took voluntary redundancy from her £99,333-a-year post on April 30. She received a pay-off worth £134,000. But the next day she was rehired as a consultant, leading an inquiry into family child abuse that she had been in charge of in her former role..."

Children in Care - the Scandal That This Election Will Ignore  (04 April 2015)

"In the past few years, record numbers of children have been taken by the government into a broken system. Over the coming weeks, I hope to explore some of the huge political issues that will scarcely be mentioned in this claustrophobically unreal election campaign. This week it is what I have often described here as one of the most disturbing scandals in Britain today, the catastrophic state of our highly secretive ;child protection' system..."

Why Don't the Family Courts Obey the Law?  (14 February 2015)

"For two years, Lord Justice Munby, the head of our family courts, has been heroically fighting to restore some semblance of justice and common sense to our horribly secretive and corrupted 'child protection' system, which I have been reporting on here since 2009 as one of the most shocking scandals in Britain today..."

Homosexual Marriage: Listen to the Children  (03 February 2015)

"As activist judges, a secular left media, and PC politicians all work overtime to implement the radical homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage, the very people we should be listening to in this debate are being completely ignore and overlooked..."

Child Protection Party  (31 January 2015)

"It has always concerned me that the power differential between those who control the Child Protection System and those who are subjugated to it is extreme. The emphasis on removing children rather than working with the families and solving the problem creates a power struggle which the children and parents are not going to win..."

Suspended and Sent For 'Equality Training': Christian Magistrate Who Said Adopted Child Needs Mum and Dad, Not Gay [sic] Parents  (18 January 2015)

"A Christian magistrate ... told colleagues behind closed doors during an adoption case that he thought it would be better for a child to be brought up in a traditional family rather than by a gay [sic] couple. He was shocked a week later when he found he had been reported to the judges' watchdog for alleged prejudice [Note from Bayith: because on Planet PC the wants of homosexuals always trump the needs of children], and was suspended from sitting on family court cases. ... He has also been ordered to go an equality course before he is allowed back in the courtroom..."

It Shouldn't Be a Crime To Be a Bad Parent  (03 December 2014)

"The criminal law is powerful: breach it and you can lose your liberty. In a parenting context: breach it and your children can also be taken into care. So, it is a cardinal principle of a free society that criminal law is restricted to dealing only with behaviour that should properly be criminalised. Yet by expanding the offence of child cruelty to embrace emotional harm,. the UK government's so-called Cinderella Law will criminalise many aspects of normal family life. ... the line between the innocent parent and the convicted parent will be at the discretion of a law-enforcement officer. And that is a horrifying prospect..."

Hand Over Your Children to the State - The Emerging Reality of Child Protection  (26 November 2014)

"Ms Kidson ... was accused by Hereford Social Services of trying to poison her young teenage daughter, when in fact she had just sought a medical opinion at the clinic of Dr Thierry Hertoghe based in Brussels. ... In March last year without any contact with Ms Kidson, police and Social Workers came to her home, arrested her and took the daughter into foster care. Despite her mother being found not guilty the daughter has still not been allowed home. On the surface this is yet another case of the extraordinary and uncontrolled power of Social Services and Child 'Protection' teams. Taking a peek at matters in Scotland however we can see where the child 'protection' path really leads and it does not look good..."

Withdraw Thy Foot...  (October 2014)

"Social Services 'professionals' and 'experts' truly think their own families, their own children, their own parenting methods, are safe from state interference and state control.  Today, it is true, they are.  Today, the subjective winds of Cultural Marxism's politically correct dogmas are behind Social Services personnel.  Today, they ask the 'served' the question 'Do you think Social Services should be involved?' and the 'served' give them the required answer, because they fear what will happen to their children if they don't.  Today, it's only the 'lumpenproletariat' and the 'dissidents' who find themselves monitored and their children removed.  But the winds always change direction eventually..."

Under 'Family Friendly' Tories, Yet More Children Go Into Care  (23 August 2014)

"It was curiously timely that David Cameron's promise last week to put 'the family' at the heart of all his government's policies should have coincided with the release of figures showing that last month the number of applications by social workers to take children into 'care' was the highest on record..."

The Systemic War Against Fathers  (28 February 2014)

"Most Western family law courts and systems are greatly skewed against fathers. There is an inbuilt bias against dads, and many are turned into criminals for having done nothing wrong..."

Victory on Secret Courts  (16 January 2014)

"Decisions by secret courts that can lead to children being taken from their parents or old people forced into care homes are finally to be opened up to public scrutiny..."

The Lunatics Take Over the Asylum in 'Caring' Britain  (04 January 2014)

"One of the most terrifying weapons our 'child protection' system uses against parents wishing to hold on to children who have been forcibly removed is to have them helplessly imprisoned in an asylum, certified under the Mental Health Act, where they can no longer give social workers and other 'professionals' any more trouble..."

Today's Child-Snatchers Are As Evil As Philomena's Nuns  (08 December 2013)

"We are very good at judging the past and sneering at the misdeeds of our parents and grandparents. We are not so good at seeing or condemning our own faults. A clever new film, Philomena, is a good example of this. Judi Dench does a wonderful job of portraying a badly wronged woman, robbed of her child by cruel and bigoted Irish nuns in a grim convent, with the complicity of the State and the law. ... Modern audiences walk out of the cinema congratulating themselves that they are not like those nuns, and would never tolerate such things going on in their midst. But as they do so, they are barely aware of a monstrous scandal, similar in every way, now happening all over the country..."

Children Advertised Like Pets For Sale  (24 August 2013)

"There are few things our 'child protection' system is keener to enforce than the rigorous secrecy rules that it claims are vital to protect the identity of children who have been removed from their families. ... But when it comes to sending these children for adoption, all the rules are suspended. ... Anonymity doesn't apply in the case of adoption. It is hypocritical, and the result is distasteful. ... [Children are] being advertised, much in the same way that pedigree dogs or cats are offered for sale..."

Pelka: Social Workers Let Down the Children Who Really Need Them  (03 August 2013)

"It hardly needed Coventry's senior MP to call for the resignation of the head of the city's children's services to tell us that the awful death of little Daniel Pelka represents one of the most glaring examples of a failure by our 'child protection' system since the case of Peter Connolly hit the headlines in 2008..."

Lawyers Warn Against 'Big Brother' Plans to Give Every Scottish Child a State Guardian  (01 August 2013)

"The individual, who would most likely be a social worker or head teacher, would have the legal right to ensure the child is raised in a government-approved manner and report any issues about their upbringing to the authorities..."

New Family Court Guidelines Won't Improve a Rotten System for Children  (27 July 2013)

"Excitable coverage was given last week to new draft guidelines issued by Sir James Munby, the judge in charge of our family courts, which it was claimed would be a groundbreaking move towards lifting the blanket of secrecy that has allowed our 'child protection' system to become such a national scandal..."

Our 'Child Protection' System is an International Scandal  (20 July 2013)

"A remarkable meeting recently took place at the House of Commons, organised by John Hemming, the only MP who for years has been battling on behalf of those thousands of families being torn apart each year, for no good reason, by our weirdly dysfunctional 'child protection' system..."

What Our Judges Forget When They Send Children Into Care  (29 June 2013)

"Since the start of 2008, when the 'Baby P' scandal was in the headlines, applications by social workers to take children into care have more than doubled, from fewer than 400 a month to nearly 1,000. In England alone, 67,000 children are now in care. Yet many are so unhappy that, according to the police, some 10,000 a year 'go missing'. Having followed hundreds of such stories in recent years, few things have struck me more forcefully than the number of children taken from their families, often for the most dubious of reasons, who then, in 'care', report abuse and ill-treatment far worse than anything alleged against the parents from whom they are removed..."

We Need to Rethink 'Bad' Parents  (29 May 2013)

"We all make mistakes when parenting. We try to be a friend rather than a parent, or we are too strict when comfort is needed. ... Imagine what our parenting would be like without resources to fall back on - like money, family, friends and connections - and what might be revealed if our lives were constantly scrutinized in public housing, in public hospitals, in public child care, and at our child's public [state] school. This is the situation for many..."

Scotland: Every Child to Have 'State Guardian' From Birth  (27 May 2013)

"Every child in Scotland is to be assigned a 'state minder' from birth under draconian new proposals that would enable the government to spy on families under the justification of preventing 'child abuse'..."

Now It's a Social Worker For Every Child in Scotland  (25 May 2013)

"For anyone familiar with how our 'child protection' system often works in practice, rather loud alarm bells might be rung by a Bill currently going through the Scottish Parliament that takes the state's intervention in family life to a startling new level. Under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Bill, every child from birth will be given a 'named person', charged with keeping an eye on that child's interests until it reaches adulthood..."

Care Plan Sees Dystopian Future Arriving Early  (08 May 2013)

"About ten years ago, a bit bored with my attempts to change the world, I decided to write a dystopian science fiction novel. The conceit of this never-to-be-written book was the complete collapse of privacy illustrated by the 'supporters' that everyone was given when they had a child. In this futuristic hell, as soon as a woman gave birth, a support worker would come and live in her house..."

The Ten Commandments of Family Law  (13 April 2013)

"What needs to change for our children's best interests?..."

Bullying, Bungling, Social Services  (13 April 2013)

"Did you know that they: falsify reports and twist facts; claim meetings have taken place that have not; alienate children form their natural family to make adoption quicker; blackmail grandparents into looking after children without support; have meetings in secret without notifying those involved; shut out family members who are willing to help; take control and you have no recourse; still get away with this despite authorities being made aware of the problem; remove children from families without good reason. We continually received complaints, concerns, worries, and fears form families about Social Services and how they operate..."

The Worst Scandal I Have Seen in My 50-Year Career  (13 October 2012)

"Scarcely a week goes by without more evidence emerging to indicate that our 'child protection' system is so dysfunctional that it should be looked on as a major national scandal. ... For three years I have been investigating scores of cases of children seized from their parents for what appear to quite absurd reasons. This outrage has not yet come to the centre of national attention only because our child protection system hides its workings behind a veil of secrecy. I have been amazed to discover how our family courts routinely turn all the cherished principles of British justice upside down. The most bizarre allegations, based on hearsay, can be levelled against parents who are then denied the right to challenge them. ... I summarise three of them here..."

Psychiatrists Snatching Our Children? That's Stalin's Trick  (24 March 2012)

"I must continue to warn, as long as I can, against the threats to our freedom now massing on all sides. My blood ran cold at the story of a psychiatrist who is alleged to have labelled parents with mental 'disorders' so that their children were snatched away from them..."

Social Services Deliberate Destruction of a Family  (12 December 2011)

"Their system works like this: First, Social Services get their set against you - under the heading of 'RISK'. It may be next door neighbours, school, jealous/vindictive family, a previous error on your part, but one you have paid for and are now 'free' of. It doesn't matter; you are now on their radar..."

The Real Scandal of Our Care System is Still Overlooked  (05 November 2011)

"Two figures alone might give us a hint that something very odd is going on in the care system supposedly set up to protect the interests of the children under the 1989 Children Act. Once again, the number of children taken into care has broken all records this year. There are, at present, more than 65,000 of them in England..."

Best Interests of the Child  (23 June 2011)

"The concept of the 'best interests of the child' is a universal theme expressed in a variety of international ... instruments of law and practice. But is it anything more than a theme? Does it actually have content? I am not certain that it does. It is cited with conviction in child protection care proceedings and custody battles but why?..."

Ombudsman Could Investigate Child 'Snatching' By Courts  (06 March 2011)

"The move follows claims by campaigners that social workers are too eager to take children into care in cases where there is little clear-cut evidence they have been abused by their parents. They also claim that secretive family courts too readily endorse the actions of social workers at the expense of children's best interests..."

Family Law Division, Cafcass, Contact Centres  (08 September 2010)

"Bias, vested interest, conflict of interest, lies & deceit ... National newspapers and the media are increasingly reporting the abuse and victimisation of parents by Courts, Social services, and supporting organisations in cases where the children are falsely seemed to be abused and/or at risk. There has also been a sudden explosion of cases of 'child snatching' by the State, whereby children have been taken from parents under cover of lies, false evidence and perjury in Court, perpetrated by the very governmental organisations claiming to protect families and children..."

Wake Up Watchmen - Our Children Are Being Stolen by the State  (15 July 2010)

"UK Courts are now empowered to gag the press, media and internet UK-wide from reporting family court cases. That they can initiate this action from within a court that is already barred to the public and where press representatives are threatened with court action if they dare publish, is the clear start of a police state. The greatest lie is that the gagging is to protect the interests of the child. In fact the interests of the child comes a very poor second to the need for a cluster of firms and individuals to earn fees form the court case and 'protection' of the child..."

Social Worker: 'All Homeschoolers Get Psychological Evaluations'  (06 November 2008)

"The Smiths (name changed to protect privacy), an HSDLA member family in Miami, received an unexpected note on their front door from a social worker asking them to call the number on an attached business card. Little did they know, this was the beginning of a nightmare they would not soon forget..."

The Families In Your Churches May Not Be Safe  (20 August 2008)

"Secret family courts continue to forcibly remove hundreds of children from their parents throughout the UK every year. The children are then put up for adoption and prevented from seeing their biological parents, many of whom have not committed any abuse..."

Family Justice: the Secret State That Steals Our Children  (06 July 2008)

"Two weeks ago I got a phone call from a woman I hadn't seen for four years. She was calling to tell me that she was moving abroad, unable to bear the pain of living in the same country as the daughter she is no longer allowed to see. ... Her story had been just so incredible. She described a world where courts need no criminal conviction to remove your child, only the word of a psychiatrist or doctor, and can deny you the chance to call any expert in your defence. A world that uses the 'welfare of the child' to gag you from discussing your case. Where even if you prove yourself innocent on appeal, your children may already haven been adopted: in which case you will never be allowed to contact them again..."

How Social Services Are Paid Bonuses to Snatch Babies for Adoption  (31 January 2008)

"For a mother, there can be no greater horror than having a baby snatched away by the State at birth. The women to whom it has happened say their lives are ruined for ever - and goodness knows what longterm effect it has on the child. Most never recover from this trauma. ... [S]ocial workers seize the newborn, sometimes within minutes of its first cry and often on the flimsiest of excuses. Yet this disturbing scenario is played out every day..."

Vulnerable Children Cry For Help  (17 January 2008)

"Vulnerable children are too scared to complain about conditions in care for fear of repercussions, the Assembly will be told today. Young people will tell their harrowing stories of being lost and abandoned within the care system..."

Face the Facts: Forced Adoption  (24 August 2007)

"This week we investigate so called 'forced adoptions' - part of the child protection system that exists for all the right [sic] reasons. But one that's having all the wrong results according to parents who say their children have been taken from them unjustly..."

Guilty of Child Abuse!  (23 August 2007)

"For a brief time this week, until it was taken down, there was an extraordinary posting on YouTube. It was a covert recording, made by a 34-year-old mother, of her meeting with the social worker who wants to take her next baby into care. Had it been staged, critics would have called it a caricature. A robotic official orders the sobbing mother to stay in the hospital until his colleagues come to remove her new baby. He refuses her desperate pleas to be monitored with the baby at home. He explains in the tones of a traffic warden the inconvenience of delivering her breast milk. He then lets drop an astonishing admission: that Calderdale Council is pursuing a court order despite there being "no immediate risk to your child from yourselves". Will he say that in court? We will not know, of course, for the court will sit in secret. Such a chilling drama plays to our deepest fears of state tyranny. There is something wrong with the system..."

Adverse Effects of Child Protection on Public Health  (20 August 2007)

Letter to Prof. Sir Liam Donaldson, Chief Medical Officer, DoH, from Jean Robinson, on behalf of AIMS: "Dear Liam, You may recall that we sent you our analysis of our first 50 or so child protection cases when you first started looking at problems with medical expert witnesses. ... We are now so concerned at the adverse effects of child protection procedures in the UK that we felt we had to write to you. ... The following list is not exhaustive, but gives examples of typical problems..."

The Rank Hypocrisy of Family Court Judges  (24 May 2007)

"I was gratified this week to find than an article I wrote in December [see Family Courts are the B-Side of the Law below] has been quoted in full by the Court of Appeal. It is flattering that Mr Justice Munby takes The Times seriously. It is of more import that he decided to publish his judgment on the case that I wrote about six months ago. For it is only when judges make their reasoning public that we can start to debate the grounds on which children should be taken into care..."

The Forces of Secrecy are Prevailing  (29 March 2007)

"Last week a High Court judge denounced the 'nightmare' suffered by a couple who were wrongly accused of harming their baby son. They were separated from that child for 12 months, the first and formative year of his life. During that time the mother became pregnant again but had an abortion, because she could not bear to risk the authorities taking that child too. So those who rushed to judgment ruined four lives..."

Babies Are Being Snatched For Adoption  (29 January 2007)

"The government is denying that social workers are targeting babies for adoption. Listening to desperate calls from pregnant women or mothers of new babies and toddlers on our help-line would quickly show their denials are not true..."

Family Courts are the B-Side of the Law  (21 December 2006)

"What a strange, fumbling kind of justice system it is that condemns a woman as an unfit mother for the heinous crime of trusting her husband. Yet this is what seems to have happened in a recent case that I feel compelled to write about, even though legal restrictions force me to leave out much of the detail..."

Guilty Until Proved Innocent: the Grotesque Reality of Family Courts  (17 June 2006)

"There is something I wanted to write about today. But I cannot. I cannot even tell you that I cannot tell you, because to do so might be to imply what it was I wanted to write about. And that might lead you to infer that I was referring to a situation that I should not refer to. Get it? No? I am beginning to understand why so few journalists write about cases in the family courts. The lawyers are patiently diminishing my file of potential cases week by week. But at least I am learning about the armoury of secrecy that social services can deploy which prevents scrutiny of the the removal of children from their parents..."

In Good Faith? A Bad Excuse  (02 March 2006)

"Since the High Court overruled the General Medical Council and reinstated Professor Sir Roy Meadow it has been 12 days and counting.  Yet the implications have not yet been fully understood.  You can get away with being wrong, the judgment seems to say, as long as you were wrong in good faith.  You should not be disciplined by your professional body, even if that body deems that you have broken its rules.  Pull up the drawbridge..."

Social Services Myths and Realities  (2006)

"To whoever needs the information required to challenge social services:  Family court secrecy protects the identity of the children; Social workers pathetic 'damned if we do and damned if we don't' excuse for their actions; Social workers, judges, foster carers and heads of special schools all do what they can to reunite children with their parents; 'The welfare of the children is paramount'; The British legal system is widely admired through the world and the family courts are fair and highly respected in other countries..."

Social Services and Golden Rules for Parents  (2006)

"Take extreme care if you need to contact social services for help and advice. Social services are removing children because the parents have a low IQ, the house is untidy, the parents are arguing, or that there is no 'routine' set for the children. Cases like these have been documented recently in many newspapers and on TV. It is a public disgrace..."

Candidate for a Social Worker  (2006)

"If you want to become a British Social Worker, and work in our children's departments, you have to obey the following rules:..."

Families Denied Justice  (16 January 2005)

"The iron law of all bureaucracies is 'first we protect ourselves'. In an ideal world they would look to free themselves from scrutiny by operating under the cover of secrecy. They would strive to deflect criticism by maintaining the pretence that it was in the public interest to operate in absolute privacy. If they could go further they would then make a breach of their secrecy a crime punishable with all penalties up to and including imprisonment. In an ideal world all bureaucracies would want to achieve the state of perfect irresponsibility achieved by the Family Division of the High Court..."

If They Come For Your Child: Guarding Against State Intrusion Into Your Home  (1994)

"Aggressive policies of child protective agencies have resulted in many families being unjustly torn apart. Intervention is often based on nothing more than suspicion of potential abuse, often reported anonymously by others outside the family. State intervention is based on a philosophical world view that is at odds with biblical faith, ... children are viewed as belonging to the state, not to the parents or to God..."

It Can't Happen Here  (March 1993)

"Twelve-year-old David didn't like his Christian parents' discipline. He didn't like having to go to church; he didn't like having to do household chores. He didn't like being told that he couldn't listen to rock music or wear t-shirts depicting satanic symbolism. He didn't like being told he's too young to date. So David told his school counselor that his parents were abusing him. His counselor contacted Child Protective Services and requested intervention..."

Social Services  (No Date)

"As we know with all child care cases, it is inevitable that Social Services and Social workers become involved..."

YOUTUBE:  Tommy Robinson Exposes Orwellian Nightmare in the UK  (01 June 2018)

At 14:33:  "[F]amilies are to be broken up ... if you break the family bond, you then leave the State to claim the children. This is the way it works in communist countries ... Social Services [are] working hand-in-hand with lawyers and barristers and the courts, fabricating evidence, committing perjury in court, falsifying court records... intimidation by the police, in order to take people's children away from them ... children are being deliberately taken away from their parents and they are then being put into a system of abuse, which is either physical or sexual..."

YOUTUBE:  Felix Ngole Explains the Implication of His Social Work Course Ban  (13 October 2017)

"CLC client Felix Ngole speaks about being removed from a course in social work by Sheffield University's 'Fitness to Practice' Committee after he articulated his Christian beliefs about sexual ethics and marriage during a Facebook discussion."

YOUTUBE:  Forced Adoption UK  (30 October 2015)  [Please note that the sound disappears periodically.]

"Great Britain is one of two European countries where 'forced adoption' takes place, whereby a child's biological parents are given no say in the decision to give up their offspring. The stated motive for the practice is putting the child's interests first, but opponents insist that social workers often abuse their powers simply to meet targets. Human rights activists have raised concerns about the fairness of the system. They believe child protection services often act on false allegations and operate under vague definitions of child abuse to forcibly remove children from their natural parents. Many families have had to flee the country just to keep their kids."

YOUTUBE:  Wanted by the State: Your Children  (01 March 2013)

"Your government can confiscate your children from you for any reason. Your children are the property of the state..."

YOUTUBE:  UK Social Services Stealing Children to Make Money  (04 July 2010)

"With 10,000 children in care of the UK government, taking kids from their parents is seen as a last resort. But some British families have been torn apart by social workers who remove children over minor domestic issues."

Petitions

PETITION: The Secrecy of the Family Courts Should Be Lifted NOW  (20 May 2011)

"This petition was started by Jane Davies in the streets of Carmarthen and published on Unity - Injustice. It is an expression of campaigning efforts by many individuals, organisations and John Hemming as the first and foremost MP. ... 'We, the undersigned, believe that in the best interest of the Child, and because it is impossible to defend a system from accusation of bias and discrimination if it operates behind closed doors, the secrecy of Family Courts should be lifted NOW'."

Social Care: A Poem

by Anne Murray

"It has become apparent that, in this modern day,
our health and social services are rife with compliancy.

"And if you dare to tell them, this system isn't right,
Prepare yourself for battle; you're going to have a fight.

"They twist and turn the subject; to them we're all the same,
They will take away your dignity, and blacken your good name.

"Then you'll be abandoned, to suffer a bureaucratic fate,
Targeted by the social sharks; that use our babies as bait.

"The destruction of the family will be their only goal,
It has become apparent: the social care system has no soul"

Withdraw Thy Foot...

"God gave children to parents, not to the State, to love, nurture, teach, discipline, and train up into adulthood.  It does not take a 'village' or the 'Collective' or State-run 'Care' homes to raise a child; it takes a loving and biological/adoptive/foster family.  Please see the article Communism and the Family for the ideology underlying the 'Collective'.

"Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds!
when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. ...
So they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage"
(Micah 2:1-2)

"It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea,
than that he should offend one of these little ones"

"Let none of you suffer ... as a busybody in other men's matters"
(1 Peter 4:15)

"Never, anywhere in the Holy Bible will you find God giving civil government
any authority to rear or direct the rearing of children ...
God told parents, not the government, to 'train up' their children."
