Delenn's mentor and close friend, Draal lived his entire life on Minbar until 2258, when he decided that his life no longer had meaning. He felt Minbar was changing for the worse and that the Minbari had lost direction since the death of Dukhat. As a consequence, he visited Delenn on Babylon 5 to say goodbye. Whilst staying on the station, he heard someone calling for his help and later discovered it was the custodian from Epsilon III who was currently in Medlab on B5. He realised that the custodian, Varn, was looking for a successor to control the Great Machine and took his place to save the lives of many aboard Babylon 5, as the planet was trying to shake itself apart with no custodian to control the Machine. In doing so, Draal found a new purpose in life. Soon after, Draal placed the power of the Great Machine and Epsilon III at Sheridan's disposal. Ivanova later discovered, whilst in the Machine, evidence of Earthforce President Santiago's assassination by the current president Clark. |
Dukhat (to Delenn): "I cannot have an aide who will not

The former Leader of the Grey Council and Delenn's mentor. Dukhat was killed in 2242 when an Earth ship (The Prometheus according to "In the Beginning" but The Amundsen according to "Soul Hunter") misunderstood the Minbari's intentions and opened fire on the Grey Council ship and envoy. His death began the Earth-Minbari War. When the Soul Hunters came to take his Soul, they were prevented by the Minbari (including Delenn) who made a "wall of bodies" to stop them. |

Born and raised into the Minbari religious caste and a member of the Third Fain of Chu'Domo, Lennier travelled to Babylon 5 in 2258 to become Ambassador Delenn's diplomatic aide. Lennier developed a close relationship with Delenn and refused to leave her when she faced the Grey Council's wrath in 2259. When she lost her position on the Grey Council he reminded Delenn he'd sworn himself to her side for the rest of her life. He later told the ranger Marcus Cole how he truely felt about Delenn as his part in the Rebirth Ceremony. |

He believes that all life is sacred and would willing sacrifice his life for another. During the series of bombings on Babylon 5 in 2260, he was almost killed saving the lives of Delenn and Centauri Ambassador Londo Mollari from an explosion.
When Delenn married John Sheridan he felt he was no longer needed and left to join the Rangers. During the Brakiri 'Day of the Dead', he was visited by Morden's apparition who claimed that one day he would betray the Rangers.
In 2262, the White Star carried Delenn & Sheridan to their new home on Minbar. Lennier made a terrible mistake, left in a minbari flyer during that trip and that was last we saw of him...
NEROON
A member of the Star Rider's clan, Neroon served at Branmer's side for 15 years. He was ever loyal to the Minbari war hero and would have sacrificed his life for him. When Branmer died in 2258, Neroon displayed his body to the Minbari across the Galaxy, despite the fact that Branmer wanted a quiet cremation. When the body was stolen by Delenn, he was ordered to support her story that it had disappeared as part of a religious mystery. | ![]() |
In 2259, he replaced Delenn on the Grey Council, whom he felt was an insult to the Minbari. When he learned the reason that the Minbari had surrendered to the Humans in the War he didn't know whether to laugh or cry and admitted that he would not had stopped fighting had he known.
On Minbar, Neroon led the prosecution of Ambassador Sinclair for conspiring to kill the Minbari leader - Jenimer, the Chosen One.
When Delenn became the new Entil'zha, he became enraged and swore to stop it. Although he beat Marcus Cole who tried to stop him, he saw the light and realised that the rangers were willing to die for Delenn but not for him. Marcus convinced him to swear alliegance to Delenn and it was him Delenn turned to for help during the Minbari Civil War. They worked together on a way to stop the fighting and he knew about the Starfire Wheel idea although when Delenn refused to leave the circle - even though Shakiri had already failed - he questioned Lennier about the matter. Lennier stated that she was proving a point - that she was willing to die for her caste, clan and for her people. In a moment of selflessness, he ran into the circle, picked up the collapsed Delenn, passed her out to Lennier and sacrified himself for all of Minbar. The last words he said reflected his feelings for her, and how he finally understood what Delenn was willing to do for her people. By his words, he died for the Religious and the Warrior castes.
It is not known whether this is how he really felt, or whether he merely said it so that no side could say they had won the war. In the final analysis it didn't matter - it had the desired result, although I suspect the former to be true.
