Halsham Ponds
Directions:
Leave Hull on the A1033 and go towards Withernsea. Once you get into Otteringham turn left into Station Road and follow the road to Halsham. The ponds are situated behind the Halsham Arms at the junction with the B1362.
General:
There are two well stocked ponds which can cater for 50 rods. There are a few pegs which are suitable for disabled anglers. One pond has an average depth of 8 feet and the other has a marginal shelf of 4 feet and drops to 14 feet in the centre. Species include rudd, tench, bream, perch, roach and carp. Day tickets are £2.50, nights are £6 but must be booked in advance. Contact Steve Gallop on 01482 891593. No cereal groundbait, boilies or keepnets.
Hornsea Mere, Hornsea
Directions:
Hornsea Mere is situated on the right about 500 yards past the traffic lights on the road towards Hornsea Freeport Shopping Centre.
General:
Hornsea Mere is one of Yorkshires biggest natural lakes and covers about 365 acres. It is about 8 feet at its deepest. Species are carp, bream, tench, roach and perch. Hornsea is a well known pike fishery that attracts the pike enthusiast (check out the one in the cafe). This is a pleasant site for all the family. Refreshments, toilet facilities and mini golf are on site during the summer months. Small perch are plentiful for the kids on the bank near the jetty. Day tickets are available from the boathouse and boats are for hire at a cost of £7 per day. Night fishing not permitted. For further information call 01964 533277.
Far Grange Park, Skipsea
Directions:
Far Grange ponds are situated on the B1242 Hornsea road, 4 miles from Hornsea towards Skipsea. The small pond is on the right and the larger pond is situated on the left.
General:
There are two ponds at Far Grange Park - both are suitable for the disabled angler. The small pond which is on the caravan park is well stocked with carp, roach, perch, bream, tench and rudd. The large pond is approximately 50 yards further on and is on the left hand side of the road if you approach the site from Hornsea. This pond has 71 pegs available, picnic areas, car parking around the pond and is stocked with the same species as the other pond. A very pleasant day for all the family. Day tickets are available for the reception on site at a cost of £3.50 adult and £2.50 junior, two rods per person allowed. Bans are bloodworm, joker and hemp. Barbless hooks only, carp friendly keepnets.
