Meet the Staff

Lt (SCC) J Kerwin RNR
(Commanding Officer)


Lt (SCC) J Kerwin RNR took command of TS Sirius in October 1999, having spent many years as first lieutenant at TS Kingfisher (Reddich Unit).

He takes a "no-nonsense" approach to the running of his new Unit and fully intends to take TS Sirius forward into the "Premier League"

PO(SCC) S McMullan
(First Lieutenant)

Petty Officer McMullan joined the Unit in June 1999 and quickly established herself as a popular member of staff.  She is the Unit First Lieutenant and specialises in First Aid.

She is a serving Ambulance Technician and is currently studying to become a fully qualified paramedic.

The Rev Colin Mansley
(Unit Chaplain)

Since becoming involved with TS Sirius in April 1999, The Reverand Mansley has become a popular figure on the Unit.

At the end of 1999 he joined the staff as official Unit Chaplain.

PO(SCC) L Ormsby

Petty Officer Ormsby has been with Training Ship Sirius from the age of fifteen and her specialisations include  Sailing, Pulling and Drill.  She works in Health and Social care and is training to be a Registered General Nurse.

She says "pants!" a lot!

Civilian Instructor Richard Greathead

C.I. Greathead joined TS Sirius in March 1999 and will spend a short time as a Civilian Instructor before going into SCC uniform as a PPO (Provisional Petty Officer)  Richard comes from a Naval background having served aboard H.M.S. Gloucester, and is also a County Standard Bearer for the Royal British Legion.

In the short time he has been the Unit he has become a pivotal member of staff.
