mr benn & the holy grail

Just to help you remember... This page is undergoing some serious work. It will, when completed, be a lengthy dissertation upon my theory that the 1970s childrens TV show, Mr Benn, was devised by the Secret and Holy Order of Knights Templars; that it was chock full of occult symbolism and double-meanings; that it was purposefully intended to be not only an initiation into the Grail Quest for impressionable children, but also a fruitful source of inspiration for the fully initiated acolyte...

Okay, listen. This site is not yet completed, but already I can feel your scepticism. So here are some clues for those with eyes to see..

1. How many episodes of Mr Benn were made? Answer? 13. The full significance of that will be explained in the completed page, but believe me, its scary.

2. Look at these 2 pictures ........

See any similarity? Yes! Proof if any be needed that Mr Benn = King Arthur.

3. The Shopkeeper, materialising "like magic" every episode, wearing a hat identical to that favoured by the Persian Magi of the 13th Century.

4. Each episode consisted of Mr Benn making a strange journey into a alternative state of consciousness, before being drawn back into the real world after learning an important lesson which was intended to aid his moral and spiritual growth. A more concise illustration of Trancendental Meditation has never been devised, before or since.

And this is but the beginning! In due course I intend to show how the episodes of Mr Benn can be equated to cards of the Tarot Major Aracana, to runes of the mystical Futhark, to Chapters of the I Ching, to the Holy Chakra and the Tree of Life. I also mean to expound verbosely upon the symbolism of the items kept by Mr Benn to "help him remember".

Come back soon, but be prepared to be amazed...........
