My background is in
Theatre-in-Education, having been a founder member of Big Brum
Theatre-in-Education Company in Birmingham, UK, and worked with that company,
touring schools and colleges from 1982-92. These days I am freelance, and
involved in a wide range of activities, most of which are linked in some way to
theatre for young people. This website is a mixture of elements - providing a
base for a number of projects in which I am involved [for example the sections
related to schools writing projects], and acting as a CV, as well as I hope
including elements which might be of interest to others working in similar
fields.

Biographical Information
I was born in Bristol in
1959, and have lived in Birmingham since 1970, so this is very much home. I am
married to Alison Belbin, with two sons, Eddie
[6, seen on the right as Spiderman] and Jim [2 - pictured below].
I am interested in a range of other things, as
well as theatre for young people. These include, Birmingham and its history, TV and films, arts education,
cycling, sport in general and cricket in particular.
I was at school at King
Edwards Birmingham, and after doing a Drama degree in Manchester I came back to
the city in 1980 where we started Big Brum. For my full CV go
