The
actual idea behind my trip began to take shape while I was
at the University of Aberdeen in NE Scotland. As a regular
surfer I met Craig and Steve (the two friends that I went
travelling with) at Aberdeen
Beach whilst taking the odd short study break. Although
the water's really cold and the surf inconsistent, you do
occasionally get the odd good session.
We
all wanted to travel so that we could get to surf good, consistent
waves in warm water. We talked about going on a surfing trip,
and after flicking through some magazines and watching some
surfing videos, picked the countries and surf spots that we
wanted to go to.
