Chatel and the surrounding area is full of activities for individuals and families alike. Indeed, guests often tell us how the wide range of activities is the factor that keeps them coming back to Petit Chatel.
MOUNTAIN BIKING
A network of marked routes with everything from forest roads to technical singletrack - and they mean technical! Access to the entire Portes du Soleil network. Summer lift passes are available for downhill riding. Chatel has a purpose built downhill course. Bike hire in the village.

If the mountain lakes sound too cold, there is a large heated outdoor pool in the vilage of Chatel. Near Thonon there is the superb Cite de l'eau with 4 separate indoor pools, a wave maker and a tube slide. The aqua park at St. Gingolph is less than an hour's drive away.

SKIING
Chatel is part of the Portes du Soleil system - the largest in Europe. The nearest lift is just 6 minutes walk from the apartment and gives access to the French and Swiss ski areas. Free navette buses give quick access to Avoriaz and other areas. Chatel has a wide selection of shops offering hire and sale of ski equipment. Summer glacier skiing is available in Switzerland
OTHER ACTIVITIES
Virtually everything you could think of! Horse riding, tennis (great public courts in the village), paragliding, boules and even scuba diving in Lake Leman. Or you might prefer to visit the 14th Century abbey at Abondance or the attractive spa town of Evian.
