Belgium is one of the most famous beer producing nations. The range of styles is daunting, from the sour Lambics of the Brabant area to the world famous Trappist brews. As soon as we have it a list of all the Wallonian (southern french speaking region) and Flemish beers that will be available it will be posted here.

Holland is less well known than Belgium for its beer but produces some greats none the less. One of the Trappist breweries is actually in Holland. The Ij brewery (pronounced "eye") of Amsterdam is one of the many helping to put Holland on the beer map with traditional beers and some slightly unusual ones too.

France is normally known for its wine, but is currently going through something of a boom in artisinal beers. There is even a brew pub in Cite d'Europe, the shopping palace for the British in Calais. Sadly most of the beers never make the short trip accross the channel so Olympia is your best chance to find a gem.

Germany is known for its strict beer purity laws and has a proud brewing heritage. One of their most interesting beer styles is Rauch or smoked beer, hard to explain if you haven't tried it, but a wonderful experience when you do.

The Czech bar is sponsored by Budweiser Budvar

The Czech Republic has managed to maintain a healthy brewing industry despite political and economic upheaval. The most famous brand is without a doubt Budwieser Budvar, but there are many others to be tried.

The United States has an array of beer that is far more interesting than the big brands we all associate with them. What other country would produce a raspberry wheat beer and an ale made with hemp seeds?

Almost every country has brewed beer in one form or another at some point in their history. Not all have stuck with it. There are some who have but you wouldn't believe it. One of the oddities for this year is hoped to be a beer from Sweden.
