CHRIS- Walkthrough Guide

Introduction

What follows is a complete guide to CHRIS. Note that using this guide will spoil much of the surprise and effect of the game, so I advise that you only resort to it if you are really stuck. There are no cheats to CHRIS, so there are no guarantees that you'll make it to the next level even with the help of the guide as you still require a measure of skill. I advise that you only look at the relevant section to help you on your way if you are stuck with a certain level, then try the next ones yourself rather than continuing with the guide.
Level 1 Level 2 Option 1 Level 2 Option 2 Level 3 Part 1 Level 3 Part 2 Level 4

Level 1- Mensa House

This first level is a point-and-click affair based on the EVIL engine. It is fairly easy to complete, but if you get stuck, here's a full solution:

MAP KEY: Red blocks are locked doors, blue blocks are open doors
You start out outside Mensa House. You will notice that there is a red button next to the door.. Clicking on it reveals that nothing happens, whilst clicking on the door causes your Ident Unit (left of inventory) to tell you that it is locked. To open it, you need to use the Mensa Card from your inventory. To do this, left click on it, causing it to stick to your mouse, then drag it to the button and click again with the left button (right-click returns it to your inventory). The button will now flash green, and the Ident unit will display a message telling you that the door is now open. Click on the door to enter.
You will now find yourself in an empty hallway, with two doorways. For now, take the one to the right to enter the next room.
In this room you will notice that there is a PC, but the Ident unit reveals that it lacks a fuse. You can get a fuse by clicking on one of the boxes on the shelf to the right of the screen- when you find it, the Ident unit will display a message to that effect and then the icon will appear in your inventory. Select this in the same way as the Mensacard, only this time drag it to the PC. As soon as you do this, you will access the PC screen. Click on the red passcode to add it to your inventory then exit the PC screen. Return to the room you were in earlier by clicking on the doorway to the left.
This time, take the doorway at the top of the screen.
As soon as you enter this room you will notice the sentry droids, which will start firing at you. Don't draw your pistol- click on the rubble on the floor instead to find a Plasma weapon and use this to fry the droids- click on its inventory icon, move the crosshair into position then left-click to fire. Once the Droids have been shot down, click on the doorway to move on.
This next room features another locked door. This is what you got the Passcode for- drag it from the inventory to the red button and click. The airlock door will open, so just click in the black area it reveals to move on.
Once again you face Sentry Droids, so shoot them down as before. Choose the right hand door to enter a store room, where a quick search of the shelves will produce a Medi-pack to replenish your health. Return to the 3-doored room and take either the left or top door.
You will enter a conversation screen. Ask any question you like but do not shoot the Android. Keep asking questions until the option to 'Follow Taylor' appears- click this to complete the level.

Level 2 Option 1: Spearhead the Assault

You may not neccessarily encounter this level, it depends on which path of action you choose. In the spearhead you will find yourself deep within an enemy camp. Move your character around the map and fire at the buildings until they are all destroyed. This is actually quite difficult, so here are a few hints:

Level 2 Option 2: Rapid Deployment

If you decide not to play the spearhead mission then you will have to do this one instead. You pilot a helicopter and must drop parachute-equipped commandos onto the boat. The easiest way to play this mission is to keep low and drop several men just as the boat passes under you, but by attempting higher altitude drops you will get more credit. Work out the fall rate and the speed of the boat so you can co-ordinate the drops with the arrival of the boat. Remember that only 6 of the 10 commandos need to survive and watch out for the clouds, as they will slow the fall of the Commandos.

Level 3 part 1: Asteroids

In this level you must equip a space fighter and navigate it safely through an asteroid belt. Whilst designing the craft, make sure that you have a balance between shields, speed and firepower and remember the following:

Level 3 part 2: Lander

On exiting the asteroid field you will have to land on the rock. Your small craft can take 10 hits before you lose control and enter freefall, so make sure you strafe from side to side to avoid them. If your shields do get low, position yourself over one of the pads- so long as you land on one of them, even if through free-fall, you'll clear the level.

Level 4: The final Confrontation

All I can say for this one is pay close attention to all the information given, and don't jump to conclusions or act in haste. And remember- your survival is as nothing compared to the survival of the MIB Network...
