The Cure are a five piece Alternative Rock band from Crawley in West Sussex. The band have sold a total of 17 million albums worldwide in over 20 years.
The band were formed in 1976 in Crawley when Robert was still at school. The band have had many line-up changes with people such as Boris Williams (drums, left in 1994), Laurence Tolhurst (Drums and then keyboards, sacked in 1989), Porl Thompson (Guitar, left in 1994), Matthieu Hartley (Keyboards, left in 1980), Andy Anderson (Drums, sacked in 1984), Phil Thornalley (Bass, left in 1984) and Michael Dempsey (Bass, left in 1979). Only Robert has been a full time member since the beginning.
The band have had many UK hits including:
Friday I'm In Love,Lullaby,The Walk,The Lovecats,Charlotte Sometimes,Primary,Inbetween Days,A Forest,Why Can't I Be You and Just Like Heaven (My all-time favourite Cure song).
The band are rumoured to split up soon and Robert is rumoured to be starting work on a solo album.I hope they don't as they are a fantastic album.
