31/12/99:
Last post of the year I guess :).
Firstly,
I'd like to thank all our customers for helping us
get FreeSpeed off the ground. It has exceeded all
our expectations both in interest and clocking
results, and to our knowledge, everyone who has
bought one from us has been really pleased they
chose FreeSpeed..
Also
I'd like to thank Alpha Design in Poole, who have
kept supplies of FreeSpeed cards flowing out the
door and have helped us right from stage one, to
bring a great product to the marketplace.
One
last thing to add. As we are getting some reports of
huge speed increases on Athlon core speeds using
FreeSpeed, we have decided to run a little competition.
Whoever can send us evidence of the highest stable
clock speed increase, will get free upgrades to any
new revision boards or new models we bring out, they
can then keep there old card or sell it if they
want. If there winning speed is broken by someone
else, the prize will simply move to the new
winner..........and so on.
Currently
the highest speed we have seen so far is from Tommi
Heinonen, who posted evidence on our message board
of a stable 824Mhz from a Athlon 500 :)) , truly
impressive. (and no Thumper, your 650Mhz doesn't
quite cut it :)
Hope
everyone has a great new years eve (don't drink too
much :).........take care Fluke

Just a quick note to say that all FreeSpeed
cards shipping after next Tuesday will be Rev2 only.
Work on Rev3 is currently being planned from some of
the many suggestions we have received. Thanks to all
who have taken the trouble to write to us with there
ideas. Fluke |

29/12/99:
We would like to apologize for our site being down
for nearly a hour. Our ISPs Web Server seems to be
up again, but very slow. If these pages seem too
slow to load please try our emergency mirror site here
We
are getting some good feedback from customers who
have successfully overclocked their Athlon CPUs. As
soon as we have a good amount of information, we
will post some of their findings. As a rough guide,
even early week Athlon 500 CPUs are reaching 650Mhz
easily with only around 0.1V extra needed for Vcore.
Later 650Mhz core 500s are achieving some extremely
high clock rates. Stay tuned. Fluke |

27/12/99:
Hi all. Hope everyone had a cool Christmas, and now
we just have new years eve to go :)). Shipping of
cards starts up again on Wednesday and so far we
have shipped every private order we have received
payment for. Bulk orders from resellers will be
leaving soon also.
Have
added a Message Board now. Please follow the link on
the left and feel free to post comments, questions,
suggestions or just plain abuse :) , I will respond
to any posts that need reply.
Have
a great new year, take care, Fluke |

24/12/99:
Just a quick note to explain about our Rev2
FreeSpeed Card. This card has no real additional
features. It mainly is just a reworking of our PCB
layout, though we have added a power LED indicator
to ensure you can tell FreeSpeed is powered up and
ready to rock & roll. This card will just
replace the older card on most orders from now.
As
many people start to use FreeSpeed to clock there
Athlons, we would be grateful is anyone who has any
good ideas on how to improve it further. Anyone who
has a idea that is included in a future revision
will get the new card for free :) Fluke |

23/12/99:
A big thanks to John Carcich for pointing out a
error in our truth tables.
Well,
Xmas is nearly here and it's been a great 1st week
for our FreeSpeed card, thanks for all your support.
As most companies are shutting down for a few days,
we will use this short break to plan a Rev2
FreeSpeed card, this card will automatically replace
the old card. Also a unit is planned with nice new
features (can't reveal any details yet :)
One
more thing to add....... Quake 3 ROCKS :) , happy
fragging Fluke |

22/12/99:
Just a quick note, NM will be closing for Xmas for
four days starting Xmas day. We will try to keep
answering emails during that period and will
continue shipping orders on the Wednesday. Happy
Christmas all Fluke |

21/12/99:
At last! , here are the photos of the production
release of FreeSpeed Pro. Hope it looks ok :). As
you can see from the pictures we decided to mount
the power connector on the rear side. This allows
for just about any heatsink and fan combo we know of
to fit without interfering with the card.
Updated
benchmark page to show a clocked Athlon running at
800Mhz :)
We
are also pleased to announce that the card is from
today, shipping in quantity. Fluke

20/12/99:
Hi all, I am afraid the photos won't be up till
about 12pm GMT tomorrow (due to our PCB
subcontractors having a Xmas party :). Hope this is
ok. Stay Tuned. We can't wait to get some feedback
from you all on the card.
Shipment
of all orders who's payment has been received will
be during the next two working days. I just wish
that it wasn't Xmas as it slows everything down for
us all........HUMBUG :)
As
always, no money will be taken from anyone till your
card is ready to be dispatched. Fluke |

19/12/99:
Photos of FreeSpeed should be up tomorrow and at the
very worst, on Tuesday.
A
few forums on the web have expressed concern over
how we are operating, and the quality of FreeSpeed.
We feel this is slightly unfair as they have not yet
seen our card :) .
Also
our postal address is not where I can be contacted,
and should not be rung, as they only receive our
mail and dispatch our cards from their. I have now
added a number in the contact page.
Please
come back soon and check out the card. Hopefully
this will settle all doubts and rumors with a photo
of a great looking product, well built, and totally
professional. Thanking you all, take care, Fluke |

16/12/99:
As demand for FreeSpeed is initially outstripping
supply and Xmas is here, short delays on orders are
expected. We are however still accepting orders, and
are confident we are still the best and quickest
supplier of Athlon OC Cards.
Cheque
orders we have received will NOT be cashed until we
have your card ready. If your card still has not
shipped after five days of receipt of your payment,
you will be informed via email with a projected lead
time.
Buying
FreeSpeed cards in the future will be alot easier.
We are currently setting up a worldwide network of
resellers, which should make things much better for
everyone :)
We
will try to keep any delays to a absolute minimum.
Thanks Fluke |

14/12/99:
We cannot believe we would of got such interest in
FreeSpeed. It's good to see that overclocking is
getting so popular. Thank you all for your emails.
We
can now also reveal the exact dimensions of the
FreeSpeed. It measures just 40mm high by 55mm wide
(less than half credit card size).
Pictures
of FreeSpeed Pro will be posted Monday. (at last :)
Our
Frequently Asked Questions page has now started to
be added to. Please check it out... |
