GARDEN & NURSERY - Nori & Sandra Pope - Colourist Planting Castle Cary, Somerset

The Popes will offer on-site instruction on plants collected throughout the world,
as well as talks about gardening techniques for each season. As well as tuition relating to their specific gardening methods at Hadspen, Nori and Sandra will explore the major effects which colours have upon our lives: at work and at home.

Nori and Sandra Pope are an internationally acclaimed couple in the field of horticulture and colour by design.

Originally famous for their Canadian nursery and gardens on Vancouver Island, they moved to England in 1987. Now based at Hadspen House Gardens in Somerset. first designed by Gertrude Jekyll, they have created a spectacular colour-wheel of seasonal plants to provide a year-round repertoire of beauty.

Their knowledgeable lectures on plants and the effects of colour on moods and surroundings are innovative and unique.

Novi and Sandra started gardening together in the 1980s on Vancouver Island in Canada where they ran a successful nursery and garden design business.

The desire to design and manage their own public garden led them to England and the neglected garden at Hadspen. Were they took over management in 1987, they have redesigning and planted it in a colourist style that was begun in their garden back on Vancouver Island.

Within 5 years Hadspen was transformed into one of the most talked-about gardens and now receives more than 15,000 visitors a year and features in magazines and television programmes across the globe.

Novi and Sandra regularly lecture throughout the world on the subject of colour design which attract audiences as diverse as artists, interior designers as well as gardeners.
