Artist: Nori and Sandra
Pope
Novi and Sandra started gardening
together in the 1980s on Vancouver Island in Canada
where they ran a successful nursery and garden design
business.
The desire to design and manage their own public
garden led them to England and the neglected garden
at Hadspen. Were they took over management in 1987,
they have redesigning and planted it in a colourist
style that was begun in their garden back on Vancouver
Island.
Within 5 years Hadspen was transformed into one
of the most talked-about gardens and now receives
more than 15,000 visitors a year and features in
magazines and television programmes across the globe.
Novi and Sandra regularly lecture throughout the
world on the subject of colour design which attract
audiences as diverse as artists, interior designers
as well as gardeners.
" The generous media attention generated from
our romantic approach to colourist planting encouraged
us to write our book 'Colour by Design' which was
published in 1998 by Conran Octopus". Nori
and Sandra Pope.
