The average time it takes for
a total beginner to learn to drive and then pass a driving test at
the Bletchley Test Centre
is about five and a half days. This may not seem very long, it isn't.
However, if we break these days into hours, given 8 hours in a
working day, we end up at 44 hours of lessons. That means 50 lessons
of 50 minutes duration. If you have one lesson a week, it should take
around 11-12 months to learn to drive and pass your test. Taking two
lessons together per week should halve the time you need to be ready
for your test to around six months. Of course these times can
fluctuate depending upon the pupil, but with serious practice and
commitment it is possible to reach test standard in around three
months (or just 25 single lessons, 12-13 double lessons). |
