13th Imperial Squadron - Sword of the Republic

Background
Squadrons in the Centauri Navy usually consist of two capital ships and six supporting heavy combat vessels or medium ships, allowing them to operate as two sub-squadrons. Peacetime refit, maintenance and R&R schedules often mean that only one of these sub-squadrons is available at short notice. However, the whole squadron can normally be assembled and ready for full scale operations within a week, making the Navy's squadrons the first line of defence for the Republic.
The 13th Imperial Squadron, aka Sword of the Republic, is one of the oldest surviving of these formations, dating back to the height of the Centauri Republic. It has been involved in many campaigns and skirmishes over the decades, with many glorious battle honours to its name and an instilled tradition of victory. Service on the ships of the squadron is highly sought after amongst the young men of the Houses affiliated to the 13th.
Unfortunately, like all Centauri formations, the 13th has had to weather many political storms, including attempts to have it struck from the fleet and the colours stood up. Friends in high places, particularly amongst Admirals who have served her, have always managed to avert this, although sometimes the price has been high. The 13th has had a long association with Houses Mollari and Jaddo, plus numerous smaller Houses associated with them.

Narn-Centauri War
Initial Forces under Lord Admiral Jarissi - Primus battlecruiser Imperial Warrior with 12 Sentri medium fighters (Daggers), Centurion attack cruiser Fearless, Altarian destroyers Valiant and Sceptre with 6 Sentri medium fighters each, Darkner fast attack frigate Fleet Striker, Vorchan warships Hunter, Vandal and Dark Star.

As the surprise Narn assault fell upon the Republic, the ships of the 13th were in a similar state to most of the navy; scattered about on patrol, showing the flag and in dry dock for refit. As soon as the initial surprise wore off, a small task group was assembled and sent to raid the Narn flank. The Altarian Sceptre and Vorchans Hunter and Dark Star initially moved to Quadrant 8 and then when Jux Prime fell to the Narns, they took the opportunity and jumped into the system's outer reaches. Avoiding major fleet elements, they bided their time, awaiting a juicy target. It came.
First Blood
Centauri: Altarian (6xSentri) and 2xVorchan
Setup after Narn, within 3 hexes of 0404, heading C or within 3 hexes of 0427, heading B.  Speed 8.
Narn: Arcismus, Thentus, Tanker and Freighter
Setup within 3 hexes of 3307, speed 4, heading C or D.  The Arcismus is on turn 8 of it's jump recycle.
Victory
Centauri - Destroy the whole convoy.  It is a Decisive if no ship loses a structure block.
Narn - Preserve the Arcismus.  A Decisive victory if the Arcismus escapes and a Centauri ship is destroyed.

The Narn convoy was totally destroyed, but all ships suffered damage and the Vorchan Hunter was crippled, forcing them all to withdraw to Marigol for repairs. The rest of the squadron had now formed up and jumped to Quadrant 8, under strict orders to run as soon as any substantial Narn fleet arrived. While this rankled with the 13th's officers, they followed orders. When the Narn invasion fleet jumped in, the 13th and the few other defending ships fled, helping to fool the Narn in to the belief that the Centauri were weak and lacked the stomach for a fight.
Once back in the Marigol system, Lord Admiral Jarissi met with Grand Admiral Liakear, who had arrived with lead elements of the recommissioning Battle Group, to discuss plans for defence of the system against the looming Narn assault. He proposed a bold scheme. The 13th knew the Marigol system inside out, having been home ported there for some time, and had established a hidden supply station deep in the system. Jarissi proposed that the 13th should play no part in the initial defence of the system, but withdraw to this station and provide a nasty surprise for the Narn when most needed. Liakear agreed to this plan and the 13th set off in two smaller groups to draw less attention from any Narn scouts or spies. Unfortunately, one group ran directly into a Narn scouting party that was between them and the supply dump.
Unfortunate Encounter
Centauri: Centurion Fearless, Darkner Fleet Striker, Altarian Sceptre (6xSentri) and Vorchan Vandal
Narn: Ka'Toc (6xFrazi), Rongoth and Thentus
Victory

Narn - Cripple three Centauri ships. Decisive - Destroy the Centurion and one other ship.
