When the Drazi were not very forthcoming about supplying additional Warbird hulls, or any other hulls for that matter, the Gaim again turned to their "old friends" the Centauri. As the Demos Heavy Warship was now well into mainstream production, the Centauri offered to sell the Gaim a number of old Vorchan hulls that they would otherwise have to scrap or mothball. The Gaim willingly paid for these manoeuvrable ships. The vessels were delivered without jump drives and with no plasma accelerator, but retained the twin arrays. The Gaim were not impressed with the ship's lack of rear defences and used the space vacated by the jump drive to add some aft weaponry.
Modifications to Vorchan
Forward: Change Plasma Accelerator to Packet Torpedo. Add two 3-point Bulkheads.
Aft: Remove Jump Drive. Add two 2-point Bulkheads. Add two Scatterguns (L+LR and R+RR).
