Campsites
During the hike the group needed 2 nights out of doors as the criteria specified.
On the first night we stayed at Witton Castle camping barn. A
camping barn is just a disused barn converted for people to sleep in. The camping barn was
of a low standard with basic washing facilities ,a toilet ,cooking space and a sink
. |

On the second night we stayed at a campsite in Eggleston which
was built specifically for people undertaking Duke of Edinburgh award and other such
awards. The facilities at Eggleston were well maintained with showers ,sinks ,toilets and a
good sized shop . |
|
On the third and final night we stayed at Hamsterley campsite
at High Shipely farm which was a small patch of land on a footpath. The facilities were
small but were of a very high standard with a very good shower ,sink ,toilet and a
washing machine . |
