I did a full stretch with no remission at WGCGS 1959-1966. This searing experience drove me to the antipodes where I have spent most of my adult life repairing the damage. No, actually the most electrifying things I learnt happened in the treeline at the bottom of the playing field. And no, that didn't involve Denis. Where are they now, Rowlinson, Milner, Tobin, Kilyenyi (Ohh Zoe!!) Read (the man who defined "long-suffering") and who could ever forget Headmaster whatsisname? I remember writing abstract poetry with Gary Manning (the least abstract boy in school) and desperately wanting to be in Paul and Neil's exclusive club (2 members). Looking for Nicole Thom who was in my 3rd grade class at Homerswood (on Kirklands) in 1971.

Fond memories: going up on stage and receiving post card like pictures on your birthday, sports day and being on the green team, Going in the dell for story time, bottles of milk with the cream on top and getting the cane for playing in the dells and wearing long pants three days in a row. Later I worked at Murphy Radio, then de Havillands (where I met my husband, Jack Edworthy). Our daughters Joy, Susie and Carol were all born in WGC and we emigrated to Australia in 1950. My family emigrated to Canada in 1963. We used to live at 13 Woodland Rise. My 3 brothers [Patrick, Gordon, Stuart] and I went to Templewood Primary School and my twin brother Patrick and I also went to St Mary's Secondary School in Welwyn. Mr G.A.Savage was the headmaster at the time. My friends were Frances Jordan, Sandra Knowles, Sandra Cameron, Marion Smith, Ruth Atkinson and Linda Smith. I am now a test-pilot and am currently test-pilot of the University Of Toronto ornithopter C-GPTR and am also designing my own ornithopter [called "Nightingale"] ]

Worked at Fine Fare and British Lead Mills before we packed our bags for the land downunder. Although I have never regretted leaving WGC, I have a million happy memories of the place.
